I live on Columbia Heights in Brooklyn Heights. From about mid way from Hicks St.towards Columbia Heights, on Montague, Pierpont, or Clark and then all through Columbia Heights calls are dropped signal is no good at all. When I'm in my apt on Columbia Heights (it's a floor through) my phone will only work in the Living Room which is facing the Promenade. The part that is on Columbia I cannot get a signal, it drops.

I get almost no reception in my 4th floor apartment. I can sometimes get 3 to 4 bars at certain spots by certain windows facing north. My girlfriend gets 5 bars consistently with her Verizon phone. Anecdotal evidence indicates that Verizon rules the Heights. AT&T seems to be a fringe player here. From Henry St. to Court St. on Montague St. seems to be the best spot for AT&T reception. But; they have poor reception in the AT&T store on Montague Street! The attendant had to go out the door to get enough reception to activate my phone! Honestly, I don't know how Verizon manages to do so well in Brooklyn Heights, and AT&T seems to do so badly, but sometimes I wonder if we aren't being cooked from the inside by Verizon. I have friends here who get steady (but phase-y) reception in their basement apartments through Verizon!

Brooklyn Heights is the graveyard of AT&T cellphone service. It's been this way for years. Boooo!

The reception bars are plain inaccurate. The phone might display 4 to 5 bars but the calls always drop, the other end can't hear me, I can't hear the other end, volume is very low, and nothing really works. Cingular in Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, Ft. Greene is horrible.

I have T-Mobile and get zero reception in tall buildings in NYC. Everywhere else its great. But inside of buildings zero. I hate it, I cant make or receive phone calls in my home.

Zero reception from T-Mobile on Columbia Heights (next to the Promenade). Some customer support reps claim tower issues and that "it's being worked on" but I wouldn't trust that...

I would say perfect reception, except I get dropped calls in my building every now and then. But I was surprised by the quality of reception in the Brooklyn Law School library basement.

I live right by the Promenade, I get one or two bars on Montague Terrace, if I'm standing in just the right place outside my front door, but inside my apartment building I get nothing. I have used this phone and another, so I dont' think it has anything to do with the phone model, it's just crappy reception. Both of my phones begin to work once I start walking up Montague St.towards the courthouse.

I have to stand literally RIGHT BY the window to get one bar, if lucky. If not, no bars, but I can still talk. Calls drop if I move an inch, or sometimes if I don't. I don't have a landline, what to do???

HORRIBLE reception. I had a Motorola v60 before, and it worked a hundred times better than this piece of junk. I mean, T-Mobile has inexcusably bad reception in my neighborhood, anyway, but this phone has made it unbearable.

I usually get good reception, but for the past couple of days it has been really intolerable. The phone itself has been showing 3-4 bars and it's still giving distorted voice feedback.

Sucks -- I get reception in my apartment (corner of hicks and state) on 3rd floor and on roof, but not in friend's apartment on first floor, or on garden place at all! AT&T's GSM service coverage blows in the city. I've had this service plan and phone for over 2 years and now that I'm back in NYC, I'm so fed up that I'm switching to Verizon ASAP.
