AT&T dosen't work well out here, but T-Mobile does.

Horrible reception. 1 bar to 4 bars to none. Try making a call from my home or even my yard and the screen will black out. I called Sprint and they tell me I am in one of those 1 mile "dead zones" yet they want to keep me as a customer. The funny thing is, about a year and a half ago, I could make calls and receive them in certain areas of the house. They have pulled bandwidth from this area, and yet will only not bill be for 1 / 2 month, when this has been going on for over a year! I'm switching service IMMEDIATELY as soon as I can find one that works in the area. But inevitably, they are ALL doing the same thing to everyone. Probably the only one not doing it is Verizon, and that is most likely because everyone else is using Verizon's lines and they are all just leeches on Verizon's system, also known as RESELLERS! They have less space on their routers and have to keep re-routing in order to maintain space on those routers and various customers get screwed in the process.

Excellent reception in and out of Electchester

I have no problem what so ever with Sprint even when I driving from fresh meadows to long island on the grand central listening and download internet radio stations using the evdo connection. I setup my email using the msn live in my phone and I got email instantly without any problem just like the blackberry. the calls I make and receive are very good in audio, no drop calls so far in my home area, inside or outside.

The signal is good outside, but when you come inside, your lucky you can make or receieve a call. One bar or no service. At times I don't even get missed calls and people claimed to have called me. Same thing for voicemail.

The only problem I have is a very bad ekco when I get a call. Outside of that, the service is good.

Cell reception is very bad. I have to stand by a window to make a phone call.

Nextel in Fresh Meadows community complex is horrible. In the area it is ok, but in the buildings it is horrible. If you live in the Fresh Meadows area or community complex, stay away from Nextel. Is is probably the buildings themselves that do not allow for passage of signal, but the bottom line is the phone does not work.

T-MoHell is more like it. I called repeatedly about dropped calls, switched calls, and no service. They offer me 50-150 minutes each time, but what good is it if I can't use them? Also the credits are not applied automatically even though they are on the bill.

I usually get about 2 to 3 bars in Fresh Meadows but it works extremely well. No echos whatsoever. Works fine in the basement, but usually no bar. In Manhattan, (around Cooper Square) I usually get full bars everywhere. Maybe AT&T did improve over few months. Reception is way better than my old v60 TDMA.
