I work in JFK airport. I am very unhappy with my service provider. T-Mobile has the worst service I have ever witnessed. Even with full bars, I can't talk 1 minute without the call breaking up, or just flat out dropping. I have called and complained, even tried switching phones, but it has only become worse. Way to go T-mobile!

Outside the signal is reliable - it won't drop too many calls - but the reception is terrible. Inside, the reception is terrible, but the added bonus is you don't have to hear it very often because it will drop the call depending on which room your in. Forget about it in basements, elevators, or even one step down the staircase to a subway station...

I must say, that service in my house was garbage, but it seems that during the last month, service has be expanded quite well. I actually have service in my basement now and service else where in my house is pretty good now. Kudos to T-Mobile, their getting there.

It seems like T-Mobile just boosted the signal strength on one of the neighboring tower because there is great improvement in the front of my house (the side facing GCP which is north) while bars drop like nuts when you go to the back of the house. Anyway, it's good to see change. At least now I don't have to STAND next to the window to make / receive a call... finally, I can SIT on my sofa and talk on my cell... ... hooray~~!

For those people who want GSM service in Briarwood, sign up for Cingular instead of T-Mobile. Cingular now uses former AT&T's network here in NYC, so Cingular's signal is very good in Briarwood. TMobile is like dead in this neighborhood. Go to T-Mobile only if you SIMPLY ONLY JUST want a phone and not wanting to USE your phone to talk, to txt message, or to use GPRS.

I'm calling out to all the people in Briarwood area, DO NOT USE T-MOBILE. check T-mobile's coverage map, you'll see Briarwood is like a black hole on the map. there's no reception at all.

I can't believe ATT GSM even just got better. I've had this service for almost 6 months. it gives me full bar inside my house where my sister's tmobile has no signal inside and she has to stand in front of the door to get one bar on her SE T610. No dropped calls, the voice quality is almost crystal clear and it's comparable to landline phone, no kidding. Everwhere I go they have coverage. If they don't (which is impossible around NYC metro), I can always roam onto other carriers for free because of my GSM America plan. Such a pity that ATT has merged with Cingular.

With Sprint, T-Mobile, and Cingular, I could not get reception at all in my basement. On the other hand with Verizon and Nextel I get service. Verizon's service was the best. I now have Nextel and the service isn't all that great. Sometimes the phone goes silent but I don't get the call droped. A few seconds later I can hear the person talking again or they can hear me (Alternates even if the person is on a landline).

I don't understand why people give AT&T's GSM such a hard time. I've had my AT&T GSM for a while. It works very well. It gets signal and it sounds good.

Very bad signal strength and voice quality both inside(near window) and outside of house. Getting dropped calls all the time in my house. There's absolutely not signal once I walk away from windows at all. Strangely, the service is only poor in this neighborhood. Once I go down to Queens Blvd or Flushing or Kew Garden or Manhattan, I have full bar.

Actually had fairly good reception with Sprint. However, I could not use the phone in my house at all. After 30 seconds, calls dropped. Foolishly, I kept the service for two years and never could use the phone in my house. Verizon worked fine in my house.

While in building at 83-53 Manton Street, Archbishop Molloy High School - no service at all but Sprints and Verizon cellphones are working. AT&T cannot compete with these two!!
