I am working on the 48th Floor. Reception is poor, i.e., I direct the phone towards the window in a vain attempt to keep and signal, but calls are dropped, and emails / Web services are interrupted.

In my apartment it's hot and cold. Seems like I've always got a signal, but it's not uncommon to reveive VM without having received the call... even when my phone's sitting charging on my desk. In this neighborhood (on the street) I've always got signal.

I get excellent reception for 15 to 30 minutes a day and NO reception anywhere from Lower Manhattan to Central Park West the rest of the time. Usually, early in the morning or late at night I'll get a strong signal on the 19th floor in my west-facing apartment. Then, in mid conversation, pfft! Dead as a doornail for the next 12 to 23 hours. This phone is still usng a SIM from the AT&T service. A salesperson in the Cingular store beween 53rd and 54th on Broadway told me that's probably what the problem is. The contract was originated on the West Coast, and even though we are now out of contract, the guy told me that only my wife, who signed up for the service, can get the SIM changed. As my wife is still on the West Coast, this is a pain. I may just sign a new service contract with Cingular here and get a new phone. My sister-in-law was in NYC Tuesday night and got excellent Cingular connectivity everywhere we went in Manhattan, including the subway tunnels.

I have a hard time getting a signal. Many times there is no signal at all and I miss calls. Sometimes I have to go to the end of the block before I can get a good signal.

Used to be AT&T Wireless and had no problems in my apartment. But ever since Cingular took over I can't carry on a conversation becuase it cuts out every other word even though I constantly have 5 bars. Thought it was my old Sony Ericson phone and then went and upgraded to the razr and still the same problem. Guess I'll try Verizon.

I have dropped calls and extremely poor reception all over the city. Phone sometimes does not ring and goes immediately to voicemail. When I do get through, voice quality is really bad and people complain that I sound as though I am a long way away in a tunnel. I cannot receive a signal in my office building and at home there is interference varies depending upon where I stand in the apartment.

Calls don't come through, but the phone does ring when I get voicemail. Just infuriating. When calls do come / go through, they get dropped without warning. It's only a little better at work downtown.

No reception on Wall Street? I had to go outside to make or get calls. The supposed epicenter of financial America and I've got no signal. That's about as ridiculous as Bryan Adams having a fan club.

I very often only get the voicemails and the phone never rings. Or it will talk me longer periods of time to make the call, because it keeps dropping it. I feel that T-Mobile's service on the Sidekicks, is absolutely horrible. I am sitting in Westchester at the moment, and a few moments ago I had full service and now for the pasted 10 minutes, I have had abosolutely no service.

Service is spectacular. I get the full 5 bars of service everywhere I go. Whether it's in an elevator, the basement or the 8th floor. I have never gotten any dropped calls in the area and the calls I make are clear and perfect. I am always traveling around manhatten and the serivce remains the same; wonderful. I frequently travel in the MTA subway service. I take the 1 train and the 7 train to and from the area. I get 3 or 4 bars underground at 66th street going home. I get perfect service on 59th street, still in the train. I get 1 or 2 bars under 50th street and then I lose service at 42nd street times square. The same consists when I am traveling to manhatten. Compared to my friends with other cellphone services, I am always the one with the amazing Cingular service. Cingular has flawless service wherever I go in the manhatten area and has never let me down. There service is very reliable and I think it is the best out there. I never had any problems and I recommend their service to anyone.

The inner units of this building (meaning those facing the patios, not the street) get no reception from Cingular. It's worse on the lower floors. This has been the case for the last 3 years.

There are frequently dropped calls, calls that go straight to voicemail. I'm unhappy, and I'm wondering if its the phone, but from what I see on this board, it isn't.

Verizon Wireless has foremost the best reception than any wireless carrier. I had T Mobile and Cingular and they really need to upgrade on their network. I never had a problem with thier network wherever I go. Especially out of the tri-state. They do work under some the #6 Train stations, Chambers and Essex St.on the J Train and in Atlantic Ave. and Borough Hall on the #4 train. I was shocked to recieve reception with them waiting on the 1st car of the Manhattan bound F and V train in 34 street / Herald Square ( 1, 2 bars though. )
