We only have reception in one window if we sit very still and then it still will not work most the time. This is ridiculous. It was so bad they sent me a mini cell and it still doesn't work even when I have bars and all. Of course it is just not our place it's all over the city. You go on line and AT&T says they have excellent service this area and through out NYC, who are they kidding we all know the service sucks all around the city. I never had a problem with Verizon for years and just counting the days left on AT&T contract. AT&T's new "We Support NYC" campaign is just more infuriating. Great they support the area but how about providing the service you promise first. Was this review helpful to you?
This is absurd! I called AT&T and they told me it was the building and not their lack of service. Well, Verizon users are talking on their phones right in front of me.Was this review helpful to you?
I moved offices from Stamford Ct to Wall St. and before we moved, I received a Blackberry (company), and purchased a new iPhone 4S and an iPad 2. All three devices sat with full bars (4-5) and yet I was unable to make / receive calls, text, nor get any data pushed to any of my devices while at my desk here on the 30th floor with a clear line of sight of brooklyn and south towards Jersey! Down on the street, it's not much better - but I can make phone calls. However, I know not to move once I connect because it'll quickly disconnect if I begin to walk. Funny thing is that it's not only me who's realized this and I can easily figure out who the AT&T customers are. We're the ones staring at our phones with frustrated and puzzled looks on our faces. I've since swapped my ATT Blackberry for a Verizon unit and it works magnificently. Voice, SMS, Data, everything! When my wife's contract expires on her iPhone 4, we're dumping everything and running to Verizon! There are two ATT retailers nearby. One on Water and the other up on b'way near Fulton. I daydream of picketing in front of these shops kinda like the 99% picket up the block over at Zuccotti park. Instead I'll make lewd comments about ATT towards potential customers entering or exiting these stores whenever I can.Was this review helpful to you?
The middle of the universe, Times Square, and I had miserable service all around the area and within all the buildings my company occupies in and around Times Square. Data wouldn't work, calls dropped constantly. I could be inside, outside, it really didn't matter. Almost everyone at my company has similar experiences. The assistants used to joke that they could tell who had ATT because we'd all congregate in the one square foot area where we could send texts. Service became so unreliable that I had to switch to Verizon. My $150 cancellation fee was the most painful expense I've ever had. Because their network is beyond miserable *I* had to pay to leave and also buy an new iPhone which was compatible with Verizon. Verizon blows AT&T away in terms of reliability of service. It works everywhere.. every time. Was this review helpful to you?
Poor for me. and my roomie told me she had the same phone and never got her calls either until she changed phone and service. Was this review helpful to you?
Well I use Sprint the bars are 2 to 3 but with Virgin Mobile its only 2 bars and there are both the same company but they did announce that they are replacing towers so don't worry I think it will get better soon... use Sprint and Virgin Mobile..low bars for now but it works good. Was this review helpful to you?
I frankly don't believe the people here saying Sprint is 5 / 5 in Manhattan. In Northern Battery Park City there is no service whatsoever. No data and so little voice that the phone doesn't ring for most calls. I work all over Manhattan and service is extremely spotty overall. The area around the MoMa in the middle of Manhattan has no service either. The phone is basically useless. I've had Blackberries on Verizon and AT&T and Sprint's service a disaster compared to both (Verizon is of course better). Under no circumstances would I recommend Sprint to an NYC resident. Can't wait to get back onto Verizon - will never consider Sprint again. Was this review helpful to you?
I would do anything to get off AT&T at this point. THere's no way I'm renewing the contract that's for sure. It's just terrible. Shows full bars, but tehre's no internet, no txt messages. As of the time of this writing my phone is one of the top tier phones you can buy, and it's a very thin, very light, paperweight. Manhatten coverage is just absolutely terrible for their supposed "4G" network. Was this review helpful to you?
In my office the iphone is useless. All it can do is send text messages (Not iMessages). incoming notifications will occasionally get through. Any data usage is pretty much nonexistent. If I restart my phone, I get a small window of about 5 minutes where I can suddenly download data or take any sort of advantage of 3G network. Then it goes back to showing full bars, but not working. ATT has become awful in the past year. Completely unreliable. I've checked with others I know in the area, and they have the exact same thing. We are basically paying for nothing. Outside the building is basically the same, very poor data. Was this review helpful to you?
No 4G reception on the 6th floor. If I manually switch to CDMA I get full 3G reception, but phone won't auto switch. Was this review helpful to you?
