I am annoyed that Sprint has such great plans, but such horrible reception in Newburgh. A traffic hub, with many Sprint retailers, and they didn't think to provide better service? Standing in a wide open space, on a clear day, I might get 3 bars, unless I move, then 1, or none, then 3 again. The map says full service area, and 3G service, but reality says not so much.

I have had the iPhone 3G for a while with AT&T. I always see the 'E" in major parts of the Town and City of Newburgh. The '3G' rarely appears. To make matters worse; I just purchased an Apple iPad with the AT&T 3G service [$14.99 / mo]. Testing proved fruitless for the elusive 3G broadband signal in Newburgh area and along the I-87 corridor heading south between exits 17 and 16 on the New York Thruway. No 3G whatsoever. Wow! A major through-fare! I actually picked up a 3G network signal about 5 miles south of the Exit 16 Woodbury Plaza NY thruway toll booths. That network lasted me through the rest of Rockland county and well into northern Bergen County NJ on Route 17. Surely we are 'shot-changed' in Orange county, NY. May rating pertains to the overall 3G network in the areas that I have mentioned.

AT&T seems OK in Newburgh- but needs improvement to 3G. Only Edge here -and sometimes phone service poor but not that different than the others.

No 3G, Barely have EDGE Service. The internet is useless on this phone in Newburgh. Phone calls barely make it thorough in most areas. Too many dropped calls, mostly use text messaging because the voice calls are dropped so frequently

It will hold a call most of the time. Indoors it doesn't receive messages very well.

2 bars most of the time, sometimes worse, usually never more than 2 bars until you get closer to the city of newburgh. middlehope and balmville is a consistant 2 bar unless you want to talk on it indoors then it will hang on by a thread while in use and drop calls every so often.

Nextel is fine at the house, inside and out. Pretty good around town too. Totally lose it though in some buildings.
