I have had Cingular for 5yrs now. I started with the huge Ericsson TDMA phone and 3 GSM phones since. I havevery rarely had a problem with reception in my house around 15th and Pine..I get all 5 bars within a 5 mile radius of this area in each direction. The only problem I have had as have most other carriers is going into WalMart or Kmart on Porter / Packard / Militart Rd area... It is still a bad zone with little to no reception unless you have Verizon. I lived in the Allentown area of Buffalo and I work at the Walden Galleria Mall in Cheektowaga and Perfect signals in all those areas. One night I was at a friends house who has Verizon and I decided to "test" the reception... I dont know if its the phone or Verizon but when I called the reception was staticky..mine was crystal clear... When the commercials started coming out about the "network with the fewest dropped calls" I wasn't surprised.. I very very rarely drop a call! Cingular has its fair share of troubles don't get me wrong..I have caled Customer Service too many times to mention but most of the time i've been helped (ie credits etc..) The family share plan is great... If you are visiting a very rural area your phone may not work as well or at all.. Inside deep basements or very thick cement apartment buildings u may not have as many bars.. All in all, for the affordable rate plans, Mobile 2 mobile, and rollover Cingular is best for value... Just make sure you ask around to make sure it works well in your frequented areas..or ask which services works the best.. Good Luck!
