never not been able to make a call, not once. reception has become invisible to me. Unfortunately I am pissed at verizon's controlling your ever move on your phone and making you pay for everything and no obex on bluetooth. once our contact is up we will probably be switching to at&t.

Amazing reception, and the call clarity on the vx8300 is phenominal. It's not "perfect" because it isn't always full strength, but it's perfect for use. U don't need full reception to make a call, and I usually get 4 / 4, sometimes 3 / 4, and very rarely 2 / 4. Reception is good in the fresh meadows area as well, but some spots usually are only 3 / 4 or 2 / 4 there.

Cingular is AMAZiNG in this area. I get reception everywhere. I frequently travel around with my friends to Bell Blvd.to restaurants and parks where my service is absolutely flawless. I get very confused when I occasionally get 4 bars. I am so accustomed to 5 perfect bars; no less. I have never ever gotten any dropped calls and I get spectacular service in my basementt! 5 bars right now and 5 bars always. One of my Verizon friends could not believe that his phone did not have service in my basement and he could not believe that I did. I proved it and made a phonec all. Cingular is amazing. I think it is the best network and everyone should have it. It can't get any better than this.

Better than either T-Mobile and Cingular, both of which I tried a couple months ago and returned because they displayed "no service" in my home. However, lately I've had calls frequently drop and the signal meter fluctuates wildly. This just seems like a bad area for cell phone service in general. Hopefully it improves as I use my cell phone as my primary line.

Reception is absolutely horrible for T-Mobile here, and a lot of other nearby places. We seem to be in a hole of T-Mobile service. It's absolutely horrible, with dropped calls, echos, etc. galore. I'd be lucky to get 1 bar and even then it's unstable. T-Mobile is just terrible anywhere but the most commercial areas, or anywhere near stores and whatnot I guess. Bell blvd is good, so is fresh meadows near the lowe's movie theater, and springfield is good too. But anywhere between those places is absolutely horrible service. Try another carrier. The only thing T-Mobile does well is Manhattan and other metropolitan areas. Residental areas are terrible. That's why I recently switched to verizon.

Some days signal is pretty good. Other days it's spotty with dropped calls, echos, and sometimes no signal at all. I tolerated it for the low price, but now I depend on it more for business, so I have to find a more reliable provider.

Does not work inside house, poor signal outdoors (never more than 2 bars).

Service was good until about 6 weeks ago. Then it totally stopped. At first AT&T tried to sell me a new phone. Now they have admitted a tower is out but it never gets fixed and my phone is useless at home. OK if I'm out but I need to make and recieve calls at home
