Reception fluctuates from one point of the day to the next never more than one bar and most of the time no reception. This is on the east side of Centre Island south of Seawanhaka.

I've called T-Mobile more times than I can remember at this point. I have no coverage on 106 from the East Norwich post office till Jericho High School. I also have no coverage on 25A from 106 until I hit CW Post. In the town of Oyster Bay, from the beach, to the library, and may other spot, I do have coverage. Still, it's frustrating to have no coverage whenever I leave town. T-Mobile's answer: get a new phone, when they really need to cover these dead spots.

Called Nextel in December - and many times thereafter. They keep losing my tickets. Something happened and they've just BS'd for months. Works on the other side of town - usually.

OK, here is the deal on Oyster Bay for those old AT&T now Cingular customers and Verizon... . The water tower on the south side of town in a residential areas up on a hill went through a repainting process which was completed over the summer. Duing the project... reception was poor due to a lower pole that was used. The new antenna sites for these 2 carriers has been placed on top of the newly painted water tower and reception should be fine. This applies for East Norwich and a section east of 106 on Rt.25A also. As for T-Mobile and Nextel, they are at different locations nearby and are fine. Sprint uses a site west of town on LIPA grounds and supports most of town.

I have been struggling to resolve my mother's cellphone reception problem since getting her hooked up with Sprint two years ago. Spotty reception, dropped calls are the norm when she calls from her second floor apartment. Amazing because she's only about a mile from the only area Sprint cell antenna site which is on the water tower on Mill River Rd. I just switched her from an LG 1010 to a Sanyo 4900 which has great signal reception capabilities. I just ordered a wireless passive repeater antenna to see if it will give her any signal stability. So much for cutting the landline!

Have been told that Cingular is only tower in the area, but that it's been taken down due to construction being done near old oil (?) tanks down by the beach in OB. Tried ATT, Nextel, Verizon. All bad in this area.

I don't know if its the Police Station, or the neighborhood but there is NO RECEPTION WHAT SO EVER! I couldn't even get one bar until I drove past 106 or the other way past 107. You'd think the Police Station would have a cell site, or at least a strong cell site around the CW Post campus. Maybe that chrome horse is shielding all the signals from the area!? Just kidding.

Fluctuates from 1 bar to Cingluar roam (no service). According to AT&T there is a longstanding service requirement for this and a bad tower - they could not state when / why this would be resolved.

The reception varies from no bars to two bars, but most of the time it hovers around one bar, in the right room. Barely adequate for voice conversations. I have to drive 1/2 mile and park in an open area to talk for an extended time. What a ripoff.
