Dead spot due to the ridge on either side of the Thruway. Tower is north from my location just south of the Thruway. Tower is located in old silo at Clover (Rt65) and Calkins. Otherwise, Verizon is hands down best signal overall in Rochester. Had CellOne (ATT) for two years and it was awful. Dropped calls all the time.

Generally have very good reception. I do get dropped calls now and then.

I have both Cingular and Verizon. The Verizon signal is at full strength, even in my house near Thornell Rd.School. I've had no reception problem and no dropped calls for the 2 1 / 2 years that I have lived here.

I have had very good service with Cingular for 16 years until 2 months ago. As Cingular changes from TDMA (what I have) to GSM the service is as bad as it has been in 16 years. They are changing the TDMA towers to GSM. I was told that I was be in a bad area, I said my last dropped call was in there parking lot at the Corporate Office here in Rochester. They have told me that to solve there service issue I must change to GSM. Not only will that cost me more than 17% more per minute cost but I have to pay for a new phone. The same phones that are free at other vendors for NEW Cingular customers. I was one of the first cell phone users with Cingular... .but I will not be the last to leave... .I am gone to Verizon. PS I have the well advertised 5 Bars and still get dropped calls all day long

I get a few dropped calls here and there, but as you move in closer to rochester the signal quality is better. Sprint was flawless out here, but alas they were too expensive, so we had to resort to Cingular's service.
