the entire area of poughkeepsie and most surrounding areas I get 5 bars outside and 3-4 inside. inside seems to depend on type of structure it is, stop and shop I get reception halfway but gamestop I get signal in entire store.

My house is located right off of Route 376, near Vassar college. I have a hard time finding little to any service in my area. It seems to sporadically jump from no service to 4-5 bars, sometimes twice in a minute. Other days I'll have solid service. I also can tell where the tower is I'm connecting to using the Current Location function in the Maps application. It shows that I am receiving service from a location that is over 20 miles away, when I know that there is a tower closer to me. (It shows where I actually am when I'm connected to the right one.) I don't know why it flip-flops, not sure if anyone else with AT&T has that problem. I also have used Verizon at this locale and it was even worse, with absolutely no service.

Around this area I get little to no service. I have worst signal with Nextel and Sprint. It has to be lack of towers in the area that is causing terrible service.

I have a high tech Samsung D807 but it gets horrible rececption, read somewhere that NOKIA phones have better reception than any other. I ordered an old unlock NOKIA 6010 and wow, way better sound quality and reception. I have mastered swapping SIM cards between the D807 and NOKIA 6010 while driving. I prefer my Samsung D807, but when my signal drops, like on route 9 south near the galleria (it stays dropped till fishill / walmart), I have to switch to the NOKIA 6010. I'm currently looking for an updated NOKIA to use with Cingular (AT&T). So in my case, my problem is the weak signal of Cingular compounded with the poor reception qualities of my samsung. I can't blame Cingular too much, they must know the signal is weak in this area because there is still no corporate store. There is a Cingular reseller near Hanaford supermarket in wappingers, near myers corner road / route 9.

My phone completely cuts out in the middle of Spring Rd.and then coverage resumes right away. It's a dead spot on the curvy part of the road.

I hate T-Mobile. I can NEVER get service anywhere its totally pathetic. I strongly recommend not getting T-Mobile.

I attend races at Lebanon Valley Speedway frequently... . I have no reception there on my phone. Sprint I know does. Are there any plans for additional towers in that area?

Oscillates between 3 / 4 bars and 4 / 4 bars. Good reception, never drops. Sometimes switches towers, but has never caused a dropped call.
