About half my calls are dropped, the other half are cutting in and out. Took my phone to the Sprint store on Myrtle Ave, in Ridgewood and was told that the transmitter for the area was on top of the Ridgewood Theater across the street. Theater has been closed for a couple of years, but a few weeks ago, power was shut off at the building, so there is no transmitter coverage for the neighborhood. If you live in Ridgewood and your service sucks, please call Sprint and request a transmitter, and ask them for a signal booster. It should be free, if you live in the area.

Reception goes from decent, to non-existent. This is not a phone issue, it is a tower issues. Called AT&T numerous times about it, had other AT&T customers with different phones visit the neighborhood and verify... Area is a deadzone, and AT&T is not willing to do what is necessary to fix the problem.

Nextel reception is the worst. They have great features but the service is really bad in NY-NJ area. I can not wait until my plan is up in Feb. I am switching to Verizon. I have found that Verizon in the NY, NJ area works the best and has better Reception area. There are just to many dead zones with Nextel.

I cant even explain how bad Nextel is..No service in my house, ALWAYS drops call, the radio sounds like someone is talking to me under water..the problem with Nextel is everyone is soo on them since day 1 with the radio..for what you pay you dont get 1 / 2 of what you deserve..and there cost. service is a bunch of jerk 0ffs... ask them if they have a Nextel and they would say NO... hmmm wonder why! the inside always knows better on whats really going on..

Owned this phone for about 2 1/2 years now and I must say the best phone you could ever own. It was so good nextel decided to make the I88s a composite of the i85s. I got reception where ever I was even with virtually no signal strenth I was still able to communicate without audio interference. I never got a drop call and I was able to get reception at certain area's under the subway. Funny when I did everyone one started to check their cell phones to see if they too had reception. But with great disapointment they didn't. I Highly recommend nextel and this phone.

I have the Danger Sidekick with the T-Mobile service contract and it is just awful. Constant dropped calls (that is, if I'm even connected to the server in the first place!) and waiting up to 4 minutes for a single web page to load is unacceptable. No one can contact me because the service is so poor, so I ask myself, what is the point? What would I do in the case of an emergency?!!?! I ran out to purchase this phone last year not long after it came out, thinking that the combination phone/PDA would be a great convenience for me. Thank goodness my contract is finally over; this was the worst cell experience!!! This phone is going in the garbage and I will never use T-Mobile again!
