I just got a virgin moble phone last night it was great. It has all the options I wanted. Then this morning came I went to two different stores the phone does not work inside either of them then went to my friends house to show them the internet no bars inside there house. If you live in Rome, ny 13440 do not buy this or any phone from Virgin they say they have coverage in 13440 but they do not I drove all around the city today and at 1st it was working but only 1 or 2 bars most of the time then as I went inside of places nothing no bars at all. then I drove in west Rome near walmart and lowes and the signal was off and on. I went in to walmart and lowes no reception at all. Its to bad this was a great phone and a great price but until Virgin mobile changes to Verizon towers instead of The horriable "sprint network" dont buy this plan it doesn't work.

Just bought this Samsung smart phone. It is from straight talk wireless. Their other phones use Verizon towers with no problems. This is on Sprint and at times I have no signal. Other parts of city are strong, but in my own home it sucks. Love the phone except using it as a phone is terrible.

The service flips to Verizon their roaming partner and back. Its like a dead zone since both Sprint and Verizon Roaming on this phone at this location is problematic. I will condede that it could be the phone with two year old tech, but its been that way since two years ago. Getting a new phone this month.

I get prety good service everywhere, and in stores. Inside my house, on the street floor, I usually have one bar, upstairs, all bars. But the phone never cuts out. Outside, we have lots of trees, and I get all bars. You guys who have LG phones... I know so many people who had them and they got horrible reception. It sometimes is the phone. Some wireless services just have better service with certain phones. I've owned Nokia phones with Cingular, and the reception was great, everywhere except in the Rome Walmart. With Verizon I get service wherever I go.

T-Mobile's coverage is hit-or-miss in Rome. There must be an antenna near the Chestnut / Black River Blvd. intersection, and another one near the James / Erie Blvd. intersection. In those two places you can get full coverage. But travel a 1 / 4 mile down the road, and that full coverage quickly goes to about 20%. T-Mobile needs to expand their service in Rome... for now, you are probably better off going with Cingular or Verizon.

Spotty reception, anywhere past "Stewarts" North on Rt 26 is a loss of reception, and don't expect to get it back until you reach Boonville. Verizon for North Rome is the provider that should be chosen especially with the new tower on Marsh Road.

Forget about your cell phone service from Cingular working in your home or any building. Terrible.
