Very rare to have a problem in Syracuse area -- work downtown with no problem. Most issues are in "big box" stores. Also, have decent reception near Canastota and southwest corner of Oneida Lake

I have had Verizon for years. Rarely dropped a call, always good reception. My friends on other networks will drop calls constantly. My phone works where most of my friend's do not. Love it.

Works perfectly throughout syracuse and surrounding areas. Gets better service than other carriers.

Verizon Rocks... everywhere in the North-East. In Syracuse, I havent faced an incident in 3 years, when other carriers had reeption and I didnt. And since I've been traveling a lot on my job, I have noticed that its performed better than T-Mobile in all the places along the east coast atleast. I also happen to know that it works well on the West coast. In Syracuse, there's no T-Mobile reception in certain areas. I've seen people get out of their houses just to make a call. And Sprint is even worse in Syracuse... ... .hardly any coverage, except in a particular area. AT&T which came in much later used to use the T-Mobile network in the area, but not sure what happened after the merger with Cingular was finalized.

Used to have Sprint... no reception at home and limited reception at SU. With Verizon have had no problems with reception around Syracuse, very few dropped calls.

Great service in my house, compared to Sprint, where I got no service at all. I live on the side of a hill, and still no reception problems.

Absolutely perfect reception! Never even a bit of trouble.

With the older TDMA phone I have I get perfect reception. I even get adequate receptionin areas that friends with Verizon phones or GSM phones have no signal in, such as rural areas.

I've had Verizon 5 years, and live on top of Onondaga Hill, and have terrific reception no matter where I go... The phone never drops a call and will ring and give me my calls no matter where I am... all over the country.

i have had Cingular for a couple of years and it works fine never had a problem

Sitting in my room using a Motorola v300 I get between 2 and 4 bars. I haven't lost a single call yet, and while outside I get 4 to 5 consistently. I have nothing but good things to say about this phone and service so far.

Two bars at best. I have had the service for about 3 years. I am starting to get more dropped calls starting around July of 2006. While traveling, I get good service in major metro areas.

Lots of dropped calls. Pretty much have to point the phone NW to get 2 bars.

Much of Jamesville road, near P&C and through to SU south campus the call gets dropped or reception bars disappear. Even many times when the reception bars are at 5, the call does not through

usually no reception - sometimes a weak call that will be dropped - switch to Nextel made no difference. But, Verizon does work properly here. Neighborhoods at top of Maple Dr.are especially problematic if you don't have Verizon.

There is a dead-spot located at my school. I get two bars or less (on my phone there is a maximum of four bars). Pleased with Verizon. I can make calls when I stand by the front doors and other calls I make do not get dropped if we connect.

5 bars, 1 bar, 5 bar. Unbelievably unpredictable. Stand still in my house and drop a call, without moving, turning a head, anything. Look at the phone, 5 bars. Three phones later (one after I threw it against the wall after cutting out during family medical emergency) doubt it will get any better. Verizon staff shrug and say "yup, looks like you have a high percantage of dropped calls" DUH! Unacceptable in a major city. Think they could send someone out to evaluate the problem... .HAHAHA. Someone said blame WAER. I'm not sure who to blame, just want a phone to consistantly work in my living room. Corner of Seeley and Salt Springs, always dead. And that's at a top of a hill!

Inside the apt. a lot of incoming calls go directly to voicemail. A few that make through have very bad reception and often drop. I definitely need a new phone service.
