I did some drive testing with Cellumap around Suffolk County, and the AT&T 3G coverage looks pretty good. If you go to the main page, select "ATT" from the network drop-box, and "3G" from the box next to it, and press "Signal Strength" below, you can see the actual coverage my phone reported: cellumap (dot) com

There are some definitly old comments on here relating to ATT's performance here in Yaphank. No where in the area do I get any reception. I need to press resend about 5 times per text here in my home. Sometimes it will simply not send, and I just stop texting with whomever. ( Actual talking, is not even a consideration. This is not an exagaration)Its bad. And I get really really pissed off. I will say however that wherever else I am, I have fantastic service. I work all around the Island, from western Suffolk to Greenport and reception seems to follow me everywhere but home. Ive recently searched reception zones provided by ATT. It clearly shows no reception where I live. I guess its my own fault for not doing the research, but I can say I always will from now on.

i fluctuate from 1- 4 and often drop calls. I had to ride around for a while to upgrade the software because it was never successful, but it really didnt help got stuck in jamesport and needed a towtruck and had to find a land line- dropped calls 12 or more times. called 611 and got dropped 6 times from them. they told me they couldnt help until I got to a land line

Service is almost entirely NON-EXISTENT in this area. You MIGHT get through in a rare chance, but signal will fade consistently. Have 2 different phones with same service (1 new, 1 two years old). Service from Sprint is horribly inadequate. Many hidden rates. They add services you don't want (and have to pay for) and have to wait to get removed from your plan. Cell coverage was better a year ago. Has deteriorated extraordinarily in the last year.
