I've been with Alltel for several months and I have been really happy with the coverage here. My wife and I initially switched from Verizon to save a few bucks on our family plan with but was happy to discover that the signal was just as good if not better all over the area here. My phone is always on full signal and we're getting a lot more minutes and paying less with that circle deal which is unlimited to 10 numbers and on all family plans. Even in brick apartment building or back of Wal-Mart, my phone can always make or receive a call and is usually on full signal. Calls sound great and I've had no problems. Alltel really is a provider that I'm happy I switched to.
Perfect reception downtown. Excellent reception in most areas of the eastern burbs. I only know of two "dead" spots - one being the Coventry area, and the other being a small pocket in the southern end of Willoughby Hills. Everywhere else I get at least 3 out of 5 bars. I don't get out to the west side much.
I've had Sprint, Cingular, Nextel, Verizon and now Alltel for the last 2 years.. this is the best overall service i've had... the others would either have excellent reception sometimes but drop calls often, or poor reception regularly and drop calls not too often, the only company that came close to Alltel's was Verizon, but Alltel's customer service has been he best... I haven't had a single dropped called in the nearly two years of service and that being with using sometimes upwards of 9,000 minutes (including night and weekends) per month... definitely sticking with Alltel all the way!
What a joke! The early days of Sprint in Cleveland were great - I only dropped calls crossing the valley on 490 and got great signal strength all over the area. Today, no good! I live in Old Brooklyn, less than 4 miles from Public Square and only 1 mile from about 5 cell towers, and I rarely have more than 1 or 2 bars while standing outside. I have no signal inside! I know that it is not the phone as I have had 6 phones and my wife 4 and they were all the same. After complaining to Sprint they sent a tech who told me the "Signal is great; must be your phone." BAH! I routinely drop calls on Pearl Rd.from Ridge down to York. I routinely drop calls on Rockside from Snow to 77. Service doesn't exist in North Solon along the top of Cannon Rd. and down into the Chagrin Valley - among several other areas. The strange thing is that while travelling in NYC I had 5 bars while driving through the Brooklyn Tunnel! Come on Sprint - it's time to provide better service to your customers in Cleveland or you're finished in this market!
I could write forever about how great of an improvement it has been to switch to Alltel from Sprint and all the places signal is stronger. Perfect coverage all over area here and all over city. No dropped calls or areas of bad signal. Can always make a call. Very happy with coverage.
I have been with Alltel for 9 years, I love it. When I do get a dropped call, I get credit for it. But, that seems to be something that rarely ever happens. I will continue to stay with Alltel as long as the service is great.
My phone reception is a complete joke! I consistently drop calls and I am unable to make a call out 95% of the time. I have complained SEVERAL times to Cingular with no results, only lame excuses (poor service in my area, not their problem). I hate Cingular and I do not recommend their service. Biggest waste of money!!!
I have had Verizon wireless since 1998. Back then the reception and customer service was great. Now in 2006 it is quite a different story. I work for a private ambulance service, so I get to see 4 of the Northern Ohio counties(Cuyahoga, Lake, Ashtabula, and Lorain). About a half of the time the phone will not work. This is true of all 4 handsets we have in the family share plan. Dropped calls, phone not ringing, or just no signal. To top it off you go to the North Olmsted Ohio store to apply for an employee discount I never knew I was eligible for and get to see 2 reps fight over policies pertaining to my contract date. When I call the main office to sort it out they tell me that the store reps are "not always properly trained" and to call the main office for help. Can't wait for March to leave this joke. Alltel looks alot better to me.
