Terrible reception inside my home around Clinton and Adams streets. Curse you AT&T! (But to be fair, good reception in a lot of places ~1 mile away or so)
I've had Verizon for quite awhile now (3years+) and I have to admit that they seem to have the strongest signal around Columbus... the only place I've seen it drop to almost NOTHING is on 315 N... .North of 270 (~the Home Rd. / Hyatt Rd. area)
Verizon gets a signal, in this area, but not a strong one. In my house I usually get 1 bar if I'm on the first or second floor, no signal in the basement. It's definitely a NIMBY view in Bexley, but cell phone coverage suffers.
Rarely can I hold a conversation in my house without dropping a call. It's normal for friends to say they called, but my phone didn't ring (girlfriend loves that one). Also, I get voicemail notices sometimes a day or two after it was left (though, there is no time / date stamp with the messages).
Everywhere I've been in Columbus with my T-Mobile I've never had a problem. If I start a call with only 2 bars once the call is connected I can rest assured I'm sittin on 3 to 4 bars for the duration of the call... it's almost like they force the signal to me for calls :) I txt quite a bit too and unless I'm in the middle of a building I never have a problem getting my messages out. I've lived on the East, Northeast and Northern areas of Columbus and never have I had a serious problem.
T-mobile sucks in this area. I have a hard time getting a signal in my house and down the street from my house. I called a few months back and customer service told me that they were going to build a tower in this area. So far the service has not improved. I'm searching for a carrier that I can talk in my house with no dropped calls.
I get very good reception all throughout central ohio. I almost never get a dropped call and calls are very clear. Verizon is definitely king in Columbus.
I get great reception every wear except for my own house. I have to go near a window to use the phone at my house. Everywear else I get at least 3 bars normally I get 4 bars.
