AT&T is the only carrier I get solid reception with in this area of Columbus. I actually have yet to see my Iphone go below five bars or lose the 3g signal that many others have complained about. If you live in the OTE area of Columbus, AT&T is the most reliable service you can have there!
AT&T is the only network that holds a strong signal in my residence. I struggled with Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile, even when making calls outside. I can walk through my entire residence including the basement without any fading of my signal. When I used Sprint, I had to stand by a window and not move the phone to keep 2 bars. Verizon would not drop as often, but calls would fade in and out. T-Mobile would only work on my 3rd floor. I'm not sure why this is such a dead zone area, since there are towers everywhere within a mile radius of my residence. I was told the trees block the signals, but AT&T seems to penetrate them.
I get very good reception all throughout central ohio. I almost never get a dropped call and calls are very clear. Verizon is definitely king in Columbus.
Couldn't ask for a better phone or service. I tried AT&T, T-Mobile; they absolutely stink in this area! No signal at all in my house. My phone is extremely clear with no background noise at all... Most impressive!
Great reception everywhere I've been with Cingular all the way to Hilton Head, and west and east coast of Fl with small exception in mountains where I don't expect coverage. HOWEVER, I have HATED having Cingular for billing issues, fees, taxes, etc. They bill one month in advance on everything, and my razr phone died about six weeks after one yr warranty and have had no reasonably priced way to replace it All they ask is if I bought the insurance. (Which I didn't---think they're just trying to increase sales for insurance) And, I'm a nice, calm grandma who has never, in any way, abused the phone. Can't wait for two year contract to end in December so I can switch carriers. Loved T-Mobile I had previously, but did have more dropped calls. Would love to have the same good coverage, phone works everywhere, inside and out, everywhere, except the mountains, but with T-Mobile. Is that possible?
I am only one of 6 in my family who has Cingular - all others are Verizon. I am the only one who can use my cell phone in the house in Cols - all others go outside in backyard to talk. I also use my phone easily in DC, Phila, Balt, Chicago, Phx, Dallas, MIA, ATL, and SF- Verizon was better in NYC - Manhattan
I've had Verizon Wireless for over a year now and I haven't seen it go below 4 bars anywhere in Columbus. The only dropped calls I've experienced so far were phone related. Definitely amazing service that can't be beat.
Verizon and Cingular are the only two who work in this area of Columbus both outside and inside buildings. I can even use my phone in the basement of my residence. Sprint and Nextel struggle to get 2 bars and hold calls even if I go outside. Beware of them if you live in the OTE area in this bubble area that has 4 Sprint towers within a mile of it!
