I get 1 / 2 bar to 1 bar in my home on the south end of town. Around town I get 3 to 4 bars. It's an Android phone through StraightTalk, and the phone is okay, but the choice to use Sprint really sucks. I wish it was Verizon, because Sprint is the only major carrier here that still hasn't put 3g in. I get a signal on my ipad2 through Verizon all over the place, even 3g out in Paulding County where my sister lives. Amazingly though, my Sprint connection is slightly better and faster out in the boonies of Paulding County than here in Defiance City. I would not recommend getting a 3g phone through Sprint around here. Verizon is much better. I am not sure about AT&T.

I'm on Straight Talk which uses the Verizon network and I get a great signal in Defiance, and have no contract. Of course, phone selection is limited, but since for some stupid reason, we can't ever get 3G around here (and now there is 4G; fat chance we'll ever see that!), who cares? We are all still stuck in the stone ages of 1G while people way out in the sticks get 3G... .I think the people at Sprint must be on crack.

i signed up with sti-mobile (sold thru rite-aid) prepaid and find it works quite well in NW Ohio. They utilize the Sprint PCS network (piggy-back on it) and my plan is 10 cents per call and 10 cents per day with no expiration of minutes if you use the phone at least once every 60 days. started the service with $25 in december and just had to add additional time june 20, 2007. highly recommend sti-mobile.

I just tried my first cell phone even though I'm horrible with any technology and I went with Alltel because I'd heard nothing but good things from others here. I searched the internet and couldn't really find a review for this area and the ones for areas near here are so old so I thought I'd return to write one. So far, I'm very happy with the coverage around here. I picked up a family plan and everywhere I go in the area I have a good signal. Where I live, at the college where my daughter goes, and at the hospital where I work, it's always 4-5 bars which is full signal. It really doesn't even drop off that much indoors as others said it might. I've also heard Alltel has been building here over the past year or so. Overall, I'm really happy with the service and I'm covered very well everwhere I go around here and when I'm on the road. I would definitely recommend Alltel to others. The family plans also seemed like very good deals compared to others, especially with my circle. They seem like a fair company so far.
