Verizon stinks on ice! I have "dead zones" in my house! Tried a bunch of different phones and others come over and have same problem. Dropped calles left and right, can't even really use the phone in the kitchen. Work in Payne OH (45880). As soosn as you turn off us 30 on to ST RT 49 you loose signal. Funny how I see Verizon trucks every day in Payne, they own all the land lines here, but yet no cell service. There is a tower at the edge of town, so I called their tech support to see if they were going to rent space on it and they said no plans to. The customer service rep was a total *** too. He asked me why I was thinking of getting rid of Verizon, I told him I was tired of Paying $140.00 a month for service I can't even use at work. He told me "Maybe your boss doesn't even want you to have a cell phone at work" Then tried to tell me to just drop my line off the contract (mine is the $9.99 part of the family plan) and have me use another carrier while the rest of the family stay with Verizon! So he wanted me to cancel a $9.99 plan so I can spend 50 to 60 buck for a single plan through another carrier. This to me does not make very good fiscle sense, he must work for the government in a side job. I also had the complaint about how they are now charging an extra $10.00 a month for basic data plan on almost all of their new phones, whether you want it or not. He said they had too many people using data then complaining about being charged, so Verizon's grand solution was to just make everyone pay for data!?!?!?!?! I asked if it were possible to have data blocked on the phone (rhetorical question) he said yes. I then purposed that a better solution may have been to have all data blocked as a default when you activate a phone, and to have the customers call and activate the data usage if they needed it. He replied that that was possible but a stupid suggestion. Stupid!?!?! What ever! In my opinion Verizon sucks and I can't wait till I can switch in a couple of weeks. If I weren't so cheap I would have paid the early termination fee and switched awhile ago. I would have never would have resingned a 2 year contract had I known my phone wouldn't work in Payne before I transfered there. Up till then I was just dealing with the dead spots in my house but I honestly can't use my phone 75% of the day now, instead of just home reception problems. Glad I got that out of my system you all have a fine day. Switching to Sprint soon hopes that work out better for me.
