Since the tower was installed behind Pioneer Main Stop (gas station) about a year ago, I cannot imagine not getting a near-perfect Verizon signal anywhere in Pioneer, indoors or out. I don't think my signal ever varies at all. I get full signal in my basement. I even get full signal in the school gymnasium, located smack in the middle of the school. If you live in or near Pioneer, I would highly recommend Verizon over other carriers... but believe me, so far as a company goes, I can't say I love Verizon... especially the way they trash many bluetooth profiles in their phones, thus limiting many bluetooth capabilities that could be put to good use. If you decide to go with a carrier other than Verizon, be prepared to spend some money on a cellular repeater system like the one previously mentioned in my other post, which I have now unplugged permantently, since the Verizon signal doesn't need to be amplified. (My Treo 650 died, then my Treo 750 died after Palm stopped making Treos with Windows Mobile, which I needed to keep, so I unfortunately had to switch to Verizon in order to do so, even though I would have preferred not to switch to Verizon at all.) By the way, due, in part, to such great a signal, my HTC Imagio battery typically only needs charged once per week, even using Exchange synchronization, several POP3 email accounts, and using Remote Desktop heavily to connect to either computers on my home network or remote computers via VPN. Brand new batteries for my previous Treos required charging daily, and based on the numbers, they even had a higher power capacity.

Since this site doesn't allow you to edit prior posts, here's an update to my 2007 comment regarding Cingular... after installing a high-end dual-band cellular repeater at my home, I turned a decent signal into a consistently perfect one, indoors, with the antenna pointed at a tower located along the Ohio Turnpike, 5+ miles away, as the crow flies. It took some money, research, and time, but proved well worth it. I wish I would have done it years ago! If you really want to stick with a certain provider, but the signal isn't good inside your home, a similar setup may be your ticket.

Occasionally loses a signal inside my house, but usually has a good enough connection to handle the fact that I connect via Good to Exchange, while simultaneously using VersaMail to connect to four different email accounts. Outside, my home I rarely get less than 3 bars, which works fine. Works fine around town. To be honest, I haven't really found anywhere where this phone consistently cannot get a signal, though there are temporary lapses in service.
