Service in the area seems to be improving. Of course it's winter, and there aren't any leaves on the tree to deflect the signal. (I live back in the woods you see... ) I recently installed an antenna from a i325, it's a non-retractable, only slightly taller than the original, "rubber duck" style. Noticed improved signal in areas where I didn't have signal before. The Nextels do not seem to require as many bars to make a call, or to use the direct connect. I am able to reliably use the phone, even in the valleys. I work in the public safety field, and we use the direct connect as a second service, so I am really pleased with the Nextels. Spotty coverage is the price we pay for "getting away" from it all.
