I have been trying to get Verizon to improve service in this area for 2 yrs.I am going to switch providers, but, I want to find someone that I am sure has better reception. Verizon is terrible in the lakeshore area. I have tried extenders and switching phones, nothing works! I wish someone would tell me a provider that works in this area!

Alltel sucks. I have been arguing with them for months they give u know help whatsoever.Constantly dropping calls,no service, Have to call people 2 to 3 times before the call goes through They don't deserve to be a damn cell phone company.

If my Alltel phones works at all is always up for grabs. My phone is searching all the time I am in my home. It causes the battery to drain and I get maybe 6 hours from it if that. I have to drive 5 miles outside of Vermilion to get any decent reception. Then it may disconnect my call. Since Verizon bought Alltel, my phone is of little use to me in my own home. Before Verizon, my phone worked fine. In fact I bought Alltel switching from Verizon. I have asked Alltel to let me out of my contract or to not charge me for it since I can't use it anyway. They said they would review it and let me know. I urge anyone who is having reception problems to call the service center *611 and complain and ask for a refund and to be let out of the contract. Sprint seems to work okay. I may try that.

ALLTEL claims to have the best coverage around, NOT TRUE!, I have dropped 40 call in a two month period, but the Tech say it's the phone, so I got another, same problem. So what now ALLTEL? I live within 2 miles (as the crow flys) of two to four cell towers. Try pumping up the power a little.

No problems in the Vermilion / Huron / Lorain Area. Love the service love the phone. I travel a lot and have experienced zero problems.

Reception is rather poor, often sketchy missing every other word or so.

With a cell phone amplifier ($150) connected the phone rings, but conversations are impossible.
