We have several different smartphones (Android, WinMo, iPhone). Co-workers are complaining about the same problems in that area. Over the last months the we drop down from 3G to E(=2G) a lot, and lately almost all the time from the location indicated and down to the South and West. When calling AT&T Wireless, they want you to waste a half hour of your life to troubleshoot your phone, while the exact same thing happens with multiple phones of different brands in the same area. They tell you that they cannot send it to the next level of support until you adhere to their demands. After you've done what they wanted, you never get a follow-up, and the quality keeps on declining. And voice calling is declining too. Now we even sometimes have dropped calls on the non-iPhone devices.

iPhone 3GS: During rainy or overcast weather, zero phone reception and spotty text. Sunny days, Spotty phone reception at best. I used to be a HUGH AT&T supporter because of the excellent service and reception. Although I love and need my iPhone for work, I am seriously considering moving to Verizon because it is so frustrating to drop calls driving from Edmond to Guthrie... it's only 13 miles. Advice on Verizon smartphone?

My business and family have been using AT&T since 1999 and each year the service quality and dependability gets worse and worse (except for the year Alltel took over the OKC market). My wife has an IPhone, and the phone is great... but the AT&T service consists of dropped calls, static, spotty coverage, and poor quality. I am forced to cancel AT&T next week because my business is being negatively impacted by the poor service in Oklahoma. AT&T doesn't seem to care, because numerous complaints have yielded no solutions in over a year. It is too bad they don't care about Oklahoma customers.

I've been fighting with AT&T for over a year now regarding their poor signal in my neighborhood. We get up to 3 bars on a good day at our house, and down the street is a dead zone. My husband and I both have Samsungs, but have tried Motorolas and Nokias as well. It seems we're directly in between a 2G and 3G tower and they are constantly switching, which results in a lot of dropped calls. AT&T has finally agreed to put a signal booster on one of the towers to improve our signal. Keep griping and screaming, eventually someone will get off their butt and take notice. :}

Hardly ever do I get any reception on my Sync. I can't send text messages or make calls. I just always get a "Service Unavailable" message. AT&T is terrible. iPhones have seen this problem too, but turning off the 3G network (which I can't do on my Sync) helps. Get your act together AT&T.

Traveling from the Hospital 2nd and Bryant to Home I rarely have less than 3 bars but have frequent dropped calls or missed calls. At home with 3 bars reception is so poor that I usually have to go outside to hear.

I don't know why so many people say they don't get service with Cingular... I have 4-5 bars everywhere I go in Edmond. I'm always able to use my cell... Right now, sitting in my dorm, I have 5 bars on my phone and I haven't noticed any change when going anywhere around Edmond.

Cingular constantly drops the signal. Phone calls are horrible as I cannot hear the other party half the time and vice versa.

Inside house 1 to 2 bars and poor to no reception. Outside house recwption improves to 2 - 3 bars but still not acceptable. House is less than 1 / 2 mile from Cincular tower. Am former very satisified AT and T subscriber that opted to join Cingular rather than endure AllTel. I'm beginning to think Cingular was a mistake.l

Reception inside buildings in Edmond is gone for this phone now. It was very good until a couple of weeks ago, and Cingular offers no explanation for the change when we called to get help. With 3 other cell phones in the household, 2 of which still get great reception in the area, and one of which now gets no reception in Edmond anymore, we have come up with our own explanation. The only phones that still get acceptable service operate on the GSM 850 frequency. Cingular customer service wouldn't talk to me about this specifically... I have no idea why. I just would like to know if this is a temporary situation or if we need to find alternate service or cell phones.
