Alltel has just added another tower in our area. I am carrying an unlocked dual mode phone and Alltel's tower now blows away all the others in town. One thing to note: The tower reception is not aimed South of Elkhart because of some kind of local conflict with PTCI. If you are stuck on a CDMA phone and can't get through locally in an emergency, you can thank PTCI (who does not offer coverage in Elkhart).

I have rather poor reception in town. Is not so bad outside of town but, is terrible in town. I have had soem problems dealing with this but recently I have heard reliable information that this is going to change, not sure when but should be within the next couple months. Not sure as to where all but to Elkhart for sure.

Every one that comes to Elkhart Kansas Can Not use there Cell Phones. We have no Service Here. A lot of People here have Cell phones but there needs a tower here. We all pay a lot of money to get the Phones and here no one can use them. WHY ? Is Elkhart not worth putting up a tower here. People here use there Cell Phones for there work but have the time they can't get out or no Signel. Thats what mine says all the time. It's Not right To pay so much on Cell phone bills and you can't even use them here. See what yall can do about this matter. Thank you, Ray McGuire
