I get a few bars but it is bogus. I cannot call or receive calls on this new phone - LG Xenon. Samsung or Motorola phones have done better in this area even with AT&T's poor reception. I am going to return this new phone immediately.
I'd really like to know what AT&T is doing about reception in the Lawton, Oklahoma area. I think that they should either stop selling their products in the areas they have no reception or offer a money back guarantee if the phones won't work. My husband is working in this area and there is no reception 90% of the time. If we do get through, our call gets dropped. Most of the time, one of us will answer and it will just be dead silence. I have called AT&T several times and they seem to think there is something wrong with our phones. So, how do they explain many of the co-workers that have AT&T are also having this problem in this area? I wonder how many other people have problems in this area? This is probably not an isolated problem and if anybody can comment about their situation with AT&T reception, please do. Any suggestions about what to do would be appreciated.
Verizon has the best coverage here hands down. I've been with AT&T. They were fine when it was Cingular. AT&T took over and I dropped calls all day. Been with Verizon for 6 months and haven't dropped a call yet. I get service where nobody else does. I am a very happy customer with Verizon.
This is the first time we ever got good reception on the northwest side of town. We have a Cingular LG1400 and Motorola phones. When one travels the phones work great in town. Now we want a tower between Lawton and Altus where it goes dead.
You get a good connection with Cingular if you're not roaming. I have yet to get a connection with o very loud feedback while outside Comanche county or Oklahoma. I used to have AT&T but since I knew about the merge I voluntarily went to Cingular through SBC. Bad move. I know people who have my exact phone but with different carriers and I've found no other carrier with this problem.
