The building is a dead zone unless you're within 8 feet of a window or a door. It wouldn't be so bad but Cingular analog and sprint customers can chat away as I look at a zero bar display.

GSM reception whle generally good can become a little spotty in this area. Phone frequently switches to Cingular and reception improves.

Generally the reception is reliable in the area. However, reception can be poor while inside some of the buildings in the area.

I always get service and I can always dial out, unlike other phones I have tried. Sometimes people calling me get my voice mail instead of the phone ringing me and it is agravating, but this is still better than other providers not getting coverage at all.

It sounds to me that the guy who was complaining about Alltel quoting him one price then charging him another just isn't smart enough to read his contract and / or bill. You need to read the fine print before you sign anything. I have worked for a cell phone company for almost 10 years and I assure you that cell phone companies do not put one thing on the contract then charge you another. If we did that we would all be out of business. If you write a letter to the BBB or the FCC and say something so silly you will be laughed at. By the way, you will not get a supervisor to call you back because I can tell you we don't have time for uneducated and unfounded complaints. We only deal with legitimate issues.

I have dropped calls all the time. Reception varies. Beware I just bought my phone and one night Eileen listening to music the head set Jack stopped working. It is under manufacturers warranty and they want to charge 20 dollars to honor the warranty or want me to file a claim on insurance that cost 85-100 dollars. By he way customer service sucks! Bye Cricket!

More Bars does not mean more signal! They can calibrate the signal meter to show more bars with less signal. I get 4 bars and lousy service. I use a Nextel phone at the intersection 63rd and Macarthur in Warr Acres OK. I like Nextel because all my incoming calls are free. If the incoming calls were not free I would drop this cell phone, everyone at work would drop theirs too.

We brought our Nextel with us from Michigan a year ago and have only been disappointed when we were traveling way out on back roads. We NEVER lose our signals in town. It seems like everyone else we talk to does. We will resign with Nextel when our contract runs out.

Had AT&T for a long time, never could get coverage anywhere outside of downtown areas... Switched so Sprint and in 2 years I have had 1 dropped call (inside an elevator).. I am on the road a lot and since I started at this company everyone I work with that didn't have to buy out their contracts have dropped AT&T like the POS it is and picked up sprint
