T-Mobile needs to install a tower or two in Eastern Oklahoma City. Service blows in this area. Reception improves as you hit the major roads, I-240 / I-40. The Lake Stanley Draper area has very little coverage. I am located three miles east of the Draper lake dam. As I write this review I have two bars.
Service was very poor after the merge with ATT wireless and Alltel and I was going to pay the 175 early disconnect fee until I switched to ALLTEL's CDMA network. Ever since the change over service has been great, I am always in remote areas of Oklahoma and there are very few dead spots. I want everyone that has an ATT phone to go into your nearest Alltel store and swicth your phone and get over this headache. GO RYAN NEWMAN!
I had good service with AT&T. Since this big "switch" to Cingular then to Alltel I have had nothing but trouble. I get dropped calls, even though I have good bars on my phone my friends and family can not hear me or I sound garbled. Customer service sucks with Alltel and I have only gotten 4 mailings from them. 3 bills and a "Welcome" letter I got 3 months after I found out I had been sold. I was trying to pay a bill by calling 611 and could not get through, so I went into a Alltel location to pay the bill... they could not find me in the system. Turns out I still have to sign up with Alltel before December 31, 2005 or my phone stops working and I get charged $175.00 early termination fee (Like it was my choice to leave AT&T). Anyway back to my bill, how did I pay it... I had to call an 800 number which got me to Cingular, from there I had to send in my check made out to AT&T to Cingular to pay my Alltel bill. Is this messed up or what? At different times when I have called into Alltel, the customer service reps have been very rude. I even had one snotty little twit snidly tell me "and whose fault is that, who had been using your phone". I hate Alltel and am planning to sign up with Alltel, then drop them (since I saw on TV that they will not charge the $175.00 to any AT&T customer that wants to leave) and get a new cell company. Alltel sucks! My advise to anyone looking for a cell phone company... Look else where!
I travel frequently inside Oklahoma and Alltel sucks. It is nowhere nearly as good as the old AT&T TDMA service back in the day. I get dropped calls or calls so static filled you can't hear the person you're speaking with. Before you say it's the phone, I have tried the Motorola V710, terrible, the Nokia CDMA candy bar style phone they no longer offer, it was an improvement at the expense of battery life over the V710. The Nokia 6255i sucks as well. Get some new phones Alltel. I do use NMO mount external antennas and 3 watt repeaters and direct connect cellular amplifiers in my vehicles as well, but nothing will help this service. I don't know where to look, I've tried t-mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, Cingular, and now Alltel, none of them are very reliable outside major metropolitan areas, and some of them aren't inside metro areas. Bring back the old AT&T!
Alltel is a breath of fresh air to the Oklahoma City market. After the confusion fueled by the ATTWS / Cingular merger, it is about time for a solid company to come in and offer relief to a wireless customer base that has so long been ignored. I highly recommend Alltel wireless. you may have not heard of them, but they've been around a long time. Check there website and tell your boss, it's time to switch.
AllTel SUCKS! AT&T had perfect reception was a great service.Altell took over and I can't even call my nextdoor neighboor. worst service in the country and there customer service lets not even get started there! I will be serching for a new service no matter what lies Alltel promises!
Hate it! I get "No signal" or "Signal faded" on almost every single call, even outside. I would go back to T-Mobile, even though they're more expensive because the reception is sooo much better. Hate Sprint!
