I've had more dropped calls in the last weeks than 15 or 20 years ago with a brick or the reception is so bad you cannot carry on a conversation. ATT / Cingular / Alltel FCC directed merger is a milestone of bad news for consumer. As a business owner, this is a catastrophe. I need an alternate company without early contract cancel penalty and am filing a complaint with the AGs office.
Noticed that nobody has posted about Sprint in Oklahoma. I've been on Sprint ever since SW Bell / SBC switched to Cingular and their customer service drove me away. Sprint reception is the best I've HEARD around NW OKC, and I have family and friends on AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. I may not always have 5 bars, but I have dropped maybe 2 calls in the last 3+ years and calls are ALWAYS crystal clear from my end (I have noticed ALOT of static and interference from Cingular customers). Oh, and that customer service problem with Cingular makes me also want to note that Sprint Customer Service has always been amazing for me.
We use T-Mobile and get excellent reception with our phone in OKC and most parts of the country. We have trouble receiving calls inside heavy-duty buildings in Texas and Washington, D.C. Of course, we have a very old phone - so we don't think it is the carrier.
Outside reception escellent. Reception inside at home excellent. Reception at work inside large call center spotty unless antenna extended. Overall reception on the northwest side of Oklahoma City seems to be more than adequate for my use.
