My contract with AT&T was over Sunday and I switched to Verizon Tuesday. My phone is great here. I get all bars Downtown. With my old phone I only had one or two. Internet is fast, and haven't had a dropped call yet. Verizon offically debuts in OKC July 11. Everyone will love it. I highly recommend to switch to Verizon.
While my guage says five bars of reception, everyone I talk to says i'm breaking up. about half of the people I call hang up on me because I'm breaking up so bad they can't tell who it is. I just got this phone, but the one it replaced did the exact same thing, and it wasn't even the same brand. ATT stinks.
We've been with Cingular for about 10 years and I have bragged about having very few dropped calls... until the last year when we've had more dropped calls and the poorest reception we've ever had with Cingular. I don't know what's up but I'm losing patience. It's not just one area either. I have problems at work and home and several places in between. Used to be able to go into any building and have reception but not any more. Seriously considering T-Mobile.
Very happy I switch to Verizon Wireless from AT&T. Im happy Verizon is here now. The service is really good. I could never get a call out at home with AT&T. With Verizon my calls are clear and service is great! July 11th is the "Grand Opening" of Verizon Wireless in the area.
After being very happy with AT&T since 1996, I find the over all service of Alltel to be sadly lacking. I travel to Tulsa and go on roam before i'm even there. Additionally, the mobil web is extremely spotty.
I've been with T-Mobile for almost six years now and have been very pleased for most of that time. But it seems the past year or two my reception has been getting worse and worse everywhere I go. What kills me is that I seem to have decent reception all over the city but on the particular block where I live (right in the middle of the city!) I get 0-1 bars. Especially in my house. It's almost impossible to use my cell phone in my house. Right where I need it most. This is driving me mad.
I travel frequently inside Oklahoma and Alltel sucks. It is nowhere nearly as good as the old AT&T TDMA service back in the day. I get dropped calls or calls so static filled you can't hear the person you're speaking with. Before you say it's the phone, I have tried the Motorola V710, terrible, the Nokia CDMA candy bar style phone they no longer offer, it was an improvement at the expense of battery life over the V710. The Nokia 6255i sucks as well. Get some new phones Alltel. I do use NMO mount external antennas and 3 watt repeaters and direct connect cellular amplifiers in my vehicles as well, but nothing will help this service. I don't know where to look, I've tried t-mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, Cingular, and now Alltel, none of them are very reliable outside major metropolitan areas, and some of them aren't inside metro areas. Bring back the old AT&T!
