Decent reception in town at almost any given time. Get some dropped calls though. There is a dead spot near red rock, and almost all of Alltel's phones are junk, but I hear there are talks of being bought out by verizon, so hopefully the models will change. As far as my bill and customer service they are A-1... ..

Alltel is the worst cell phone company on the planet. Ryan Newman sucks, Chad sucks and their customer service sucks. This is also my 4th phone from them and it also is a refurbished piece of junk. Do not use their service or products.

had great service when we had att, then got sold to alltel. initially service wasn't bad, but after about 6 months, we started getting a ton of dropped calls, static, cutting out, etc. Alltel service has been little to no help. as soon as our contract is up, we're switching to cingular!

I had a differnt phone and switched to this one because it picks up a signal much better--I travel a great deal and have the nationwide plan with which I am completely satisfied. The trouble areas I have encountered in the area surrounding Ponca City are: Low places on Kaw 11 toward Kaw City. Have a signal in Kaw City most of the time. The other areas I have problems with reception are two spots on 14th Street, one by Walgreens and the second place is by Lowes. Going to Arkansas City there is a dead space just before Newkirk and then about a mile north of the Kansas state line North until you get into Arkansas City. Going west of IXL corner from 77 there is a dead space of about 1-3 miles. Although I'm looking forward to total cell coverage someday, Cingular has outperformed Alltel in overal coverage. My husband has an Alltel phone.

I have four or five bars almost anywhere in Ponca City. I no longer roam when traveling to Newkirk, Arkansas City or Winfield. Blackwell is still a dead spot, but Sprint is going to address the poor signal there. Up and down I-35 I have great signal. South of Ponca City going to Stillwater along Hwy. 177 signal is good except in a few low spots about 5 miles south of town and around the Paradise Casino. When I travel East of town to Bartlesville on Hwy. 60 I have spotty signal while on Digital Roam using US Cellular towers. I would give Sprint an approval rating of 90%.

Good signal in town. Go north or east 10 miles and you will roam on AT&T (analog) or US Cellular (digital). Travel south toward Stillwater or west to I-35 and signal is good.
