i moved here a year ago. I have had Verizon for years now, and did not want to switch. I have never had a dropped call anywhere in tulsa. that is amazing considering Verizon is not offered in tulsa, and I am basically using other towers. the only problem is that I do not have my web access through my phone because it is not a Verizon tower. trust me, when Verizon comes to tulsa, you will want to switch carriers, and get with verizon.

I recently had ATT with TDMA service using a Nokia 8260 and upgraded to a Cingular GSM plan using the Motorola V551. In my apt which is on the 1st floor, I dont get very good reception, 2-3 bars usually... although sometimes 1 or 4.

I'll stick with US Cellular. I've been a customer for seven years. From the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in TN to the Peaks of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State I have been tracked down by family and friends. I appreciate the execellent service and to be honest the only way I can be sure I'm not going to be disturbed by a call is to turn the darn phone OFF. US Cellular customer service has been excellent over the years with only one young clerk in a store that needed to check her attitude. Over

I work for Sprint at the City Plex Towers and have access to the mapping tools that show coverage for any area. I know for a fact that Tulsa's Sprint coverage is horrible. In addition, Sprint is the only carrier to outsource its Customer Support to the Phillipines and India. I would not use Sprint if someone payed me. I have Cingular. To put the difference in signal reception in perspctive, I work in the 20 story tower, 14th floor, and have full signal in each of the 3 towers. The Sprint LG 325 on the other hand, does not pick up 1 bar. So, between the GSM phone and the CDMA phone, you have a difference of full signal strength and no signal strength. And to the people posting about AT&T using Cingular towers, AT&T used TDMA, not GSM. The towers are not the same. That's why Cingular required you to swap to Cingular. Thy're getting rid of TDMA. Also, my manger has Tmobile, and his T-Mobile signal indoors, 12-15 stories up, has about 3 bars normally. The other day, he lost his T-Mobile signal completely and picked up my Cingular signal! This goes to show that even between carriers using the same network type, there are differences, and it depends on that carrier's network whether or not you get good reception.

My phone drops calls on a near daily basis!. I am merely a half mile or two from NUMEROUS towers yet have HORRIBLE recption. Funny thing is calls routinely drop between 11-15 minutes even though I am showing complete reception strength! Recently, calls have been lasting up to 50 minutes with crashing. It is extremely frustrating and obnoxious!I have gotten two new phones, and three new chargers over the past 8 months and keep hearing the same tired excuses when I go to my TMobile location. I'm told that these are just "bad" phones and "bad" chargers. Translation, "I don't know, I don't care, and I'm not about to get off my ass" to give good customer service! I can't seem to correct these problems no matter what avenue I take or how I go about taking it! Presently, since getting yet another new phone, I can not check VM, dial or receive calls, connect to tzones or web, etc. I have full "bars" as I begin to dial number, after dialing for a few secs, I receive a "call failed" message and show NO "bars"! A friend of mine also indicated that this location was HORRIBLE for cell phones but, like myself, she could not explain WHY there is crappy service here. Anyone know the S Tulsa area? Sure would appreciate ANY tips you may have to ensure reception! THX

Down hill, west of 71st and Yale. Very poor reception - bars drop when call is taken. AT&T (TDMA) was good at this location, as is T-Mobile (GSM).
