Overall, good reception with Verizon. Three bars out of four at home. Generally works well in places I visit. Drops calls and poor reception in Ray's Food Place and some other random places in Albany. Overall, I am satisfied.

Been a Verizon customer for 10 years. Live only blocks from South Albany High School. This area is a known "dead zone". Poor coverage, dropped calls, texts that take 24 hours to go through. Been fighting with Verizon for years. They have been saying we are in line for "tower upgrade" but think they are blowing smoke! New tower at Geary / Queen intersection made no difference. I'm done. AT and T gets 100% coverage here. Long time customers mean nothing. They treat a new customer, that they can get stuck in a contract, better.

Verizon has a solid network in most of Albany. Around the house I get between 4 to 7 bars. I very, very rarely have a dropped call around Albany, however there are a few dead spots here and there (most notably on HWY 34 going towards Lebanon). As for internet browsing, it is merely "okay." It does seem pretty pokey, even on mobile optimized sites.

I live two blocks south of S. Albany High school on Moraga Ave, and have Very poor cell reception at home. 1 to 2 bars are normal and many lost calls! Is this the Verizon Dead Zone, or a poor phone the Motorola V750? I Recive good cell coverage in the center of Albany on Pacific Blvd, and at the Verizion company store. The Verizion store employes don't know what to say????

Very spotty, I stayed in Lindenwood apartments and recpetion is very poor. Near linnbenoton community college reception is terrible inside the campus. I noticed that inside the campus building I cannot make a call, while my friend who uses Verizon gets good reception indoors on campus.

Qwest is terrible all around, bad customer service as well as terrible cheap equipment. I lost so many calls in my house, which is less than a mile away from I-5. I switched to cingular, and now I get great reception everywhere I go, and I got a Sync for free after a $50 rebate.

Reception on Sprint the past couple of years has been improved dramatically. It is extremely good in all areas I frequent around town including inside the Costco building which was no existent previously

Pretty Good service, sometimes spotty inside my house, but always able to make and recieve calls, and understand people. Overall works very well in the valley, and have yet to lose service up in the hills in the area. Also excellent coverage on the coast, and in between the valley and the coast. Highly reccomended for the frequent traveler. Only thing I have noticed is that Nokia phones work the best on Cingular's network. For some reason nothing else I have used has worked quite as well as the Nokia's. But in my opinion Nokia's are superior phones anyways.
