Seems like more often than not, when I am out mt. biking or on the water, my friends have coverage and I do not. Also T-Mobile customer service has become worse and worse over the years. I had a bill dispute with them and they just ignored my comments and said I needed to pay or get sent to a collections agency.

Sprint has been promising for 5 years now that a tower is coming to SE Bend. Liars. Looking for another service. Looks like US cellular or unicel.

everyone is saying T-Mobile sucks and unicel is great, but if you have T-Mobile and lose coverage your phone will use a unicel tower. but don't get T-Mobile togo, it gets way less reception

Longtime Verizon customer. Moved to Bend in Sep 06. No local Verizon coverage at that time, but I had spectacular reception, I believe through the US Cellular towers. No data service, but voice was excellent. Unfortunately, on April 15th, 2007, Verizon started offering local service through their own equipment. Since then, I can't reliable use my phone within a mile of the house. I get very good coverage in downtown and near the Old Mill. Spotty coverage on the road to Mt Bachelor. I have tried to work with Verizon tech support to come up with a solution, but was finally told yesterday that they won't be able to provide adequate coverage in those areas. I sometimes see 1 bar at home and on Mt Washington heading south, usually 0 bars. I can't get reliable service near Summit HS, but things start improving near broken top golf course. I'm looking for a better solution. Ironically, since their coverage started on April 15th, I now get EV data coverage at the house, often 2 bars. So I can't make calls, but I could browse the internet. Disappointing!

Great reception and service on US Cellular - no complaints. Originally, we had T-Mobile and that was absolutely worthless. Next was Cellular One.. it was okay but better plan with US Cellular so switched two years ago. Best deal and reception is with US Cellular. I get reception just about everywhere on Mt Bach and around Central Oregon. Renewing for another 2 years...

I have had my razr for about 8 months now and I have not dropped a single call. If I am traveling to Medford from Bend, I normally have reception all the way from Bend to about 1 / 2 a mile from Crater Lake. I have not seen any other carry come close to US Cellulars reception and service.

Switched to US Cellular from Unicel in March 2006. The coverage is the best I have seen for central Oregon and the Bend area. My dropped calls are too few to recall. Works well in buildings too. I mountain bike alot, and as a girl it great to have cell phone coverage on the forest trails I ride! My friend is on Sprint. I use my cell phone with no problems in my home. She has terrible connections and perpetual dropped calls at my house. I am thinking about moving to a US Cellular Blackberry.

I was on Unicel for years. When they transisioned over to GSM (on the cheap I think), they lost me. I switched to US CELLULAR, which uses the more reliable CDMA frequency. It is has been wonderful. No dropped called yet. It works best for anyone who enjoys outdoor sports in the Central Oregon region. They now have a tower that works in Lake Billy Chinook, in the Canyon! Great while water skiing or fishing. Works in stores like Walmart with no drops. My unicel even dropped there.

Most cell carriers are terrible in Central Oregon. T-moble has been just ok. Can't pick up inside buildings. Can't get coverage over the pass when driving. But their family plans are better than Unicel. Wish we could get Cingular, we think its the best. We need them to come to this area and we need more cell towers.

Fairly crappy service all around. Either no service or maybe 2 bars for a couple of seconds in my house. It gets the phone to ring, but answering it just drops the call. Want to switch to Unicel or presure T-Mobile to put a tower on top of my house if they don't want to loose a customer. Go figure anyways with a T-Mobile call center in Redmond.

We've had T-Mobile for over a year. Horrible, horrible, horrible reception. Dropped calls. Phones won't ring but go straight to voice mail. Go in a building - no reception. Can't call from inside the house, and when you go outside of the house it may dial but gets dropped. I would honestly say that only 5% of the time that we try to call mobile to mobile while in Bend do our calls ever get through. And for some reason, most of the time my phone says 'emergency only' instead of t-mobile, and I think that has something to do with reception. T-Mobile is a waste of time and money, and very frustrating.

Cingular does not cover here, but UNICEL (RCC Corporation) provides coverage to Cingular users, as well as their own service. I have UNICEL and I'm overall very happy. The coverage here is awesome with no dead spots or dropped calls. If you switch over from another carrier to UNICEL, do not port your number if you text a lot! They have very horrible texting problems with ported numbers. If you get a number from UNICEL, you'll be just fine with everything.

My reception is good, but the Vcast and photo sending / receiving is not available. Since this is an "extended" area it's just not an option. Text messaging does work, however I think it's an arm and a leg to pay for. I noticed a $.30 data charge on my bill and I only sent one message this month. So check this out before doing a lot of messaging.

Verizon is horrific in Bend. Treo is impossible to use as it locks up and is worthless. Over 1000 people work at the Bend Airport, but Verizon does not support the area

My dream is to complete one call while I have sprint. It has never happened. You have 1 or two bars, enough to make the phone ring, but as soon as you answer, it drops the call. I use my phome as a work phone and get a lot of my calls at home. Lets just say I spend alot of time in the cold outside trying to find reception!

Altough Cingular does not provide "in-network" coverage, I am able to get very good reception on their "out of network" coverage. Santa, please bring Cingular in-network and a Cingular store to Bend, Oregon. pleeeeeeze.
