I've had Edge Wireless for 5 years and had US Cellular for about the same amount of time before hand. We live in very rugged terrain, so we obviously wouldn't have the coverage that a big city like Portland would. Edge Wireless has great coverage everywhere I go. Their customer service is by far superior!

We're at the North end of Brookings and get marginal / none reception. However with a cellphone dual band amplifier and truckers cell antenna (purchased on e-Bay for $230) we now get 4 bars. Up here Edge Wireless is the provider via contract thru AT&T which is now Cingular. US Cellular works GREAT here but not in areas we travel in the U.S. So, we're stuck with Cingular because their service coverage it better for avid travelers, We RV'd as fulltimers for 7 years and always had coverage thru AT&T, even in Canada.

Good reception downtown and in Harbor, but in some buildings / houses uptown switches to digital roam. Upriver has excellent digital roaming even ten + miles up, but as far as actually Sprint signal, poor except near the 101 and / or in line-of-sight on the towers. Usually when I'm indoors in areas where I only get one bar, I switch the setting to roaming (no extra charge) where I pick up two or three bars and I can hear loud and clear. Verizon had way better coverage, but Sprint isn't all that bad.

My phone has some weird issue, where it will see a "Ghost" Verizon tower signal. if I can get it to ignore that signal, it has great roaming via USCC. None of my friends who visit the area have issues, and I have not had this issue before with my old (Vx4300) phone... I believe that Verizon is planning on moving to the area, and my new phone (Which has AMAZING) reception may be picking up one of Verizon's towers that is not yet active.
