Personal phone US Cellular. Work phone is Verizon. Over 80% of workmates will not use Verizon phone because of spotty coverage. USC phone makes calls / texts 20 miles into the sticks where other carriers show no coverage. Do not use any other carrier than US Cellular if you want to leave the I-5 corridor and have coverage. Have found only two dead spots on I-5 between Roseburg and California; Canyon Pass (mp 93) and Siskiyou Summit (mp 4). Can't beat that!

Even though T-Mobile coverage map says service is good at home, you can only hear about 3 out of 5 words. Often calls are merely sent to voicemail when phone is at this location. It seems to work better closer to I-5 and downtown Medford. Complaints go unanswered. Often get conflicting information when I do get to talk to T-Mobile customer service.

The Rogue Valley is a large, flat plain surrounded by hills. Sprint works great on the valley floor (Medford, Central Point, Phoenix, Talent) but starts to crap out as you get up into the hills. Stear clear of Sprint unless you plan to stay on the valley floor. In my case, I'm on Old Stage Road, about three miles south of the town of Gold Hill. I'm only 5 miles from the middle of Central Point, but I get zero reception at my home.

Just yesterday I went in and dropped my excellent coverage with AT&T digital, with which I got perfect reception pretty much anywhere I went, to a shared plan with AT&T GSM and brand new GSM phone. I now get no reception in my home at all except near one bedroom window, and even driving down the road near my home I can get no reception. I am extremely disappointed and am going in tomorrow to see if there is anything to be done about it. I would like to get my digital plan back, but probably won't be able to.
