Never had problems with Sprint before moving to this house off of north River Road. Neighbors with Sprint want out too, but Sprint charges 200 bucks per phone to cancel contract. We have three phones under contract. Sprint is going to mail a 'gizmo' that will improve our reception. Great, I have to install a gizmo that will try and pick up on zero to one bars and amplify it. In the meantime, we can't call out of get calls here. I had to get a land line, which I don't really want. QWest provided great customer service on the land line and DSL. Shocked me as QWest really sucked the last time around. Anyway, QWest just started affilitation with Verizon, so I will check them out.

Tried to call from new home on three different models of Sanyo phones. Had to go out to street to talk. Zero to one bar in the house, depending on which room. Some friends with Verizon service came over and got two to three bars. Can't believe such poor reception in this area between North Eugene and Junction City.

Coverage in Eugene / Springfield has improved over the last 2 years, and is quite reliable. Data is not yet 3G (still only EDGE) like PDX or SFO.

Like I always tell people... ATT / Cingular is the most dropped calls network. 7 out of 10 calls anywhere in this area drop, get disconnected or I get the infamous dead air call. The coverage is good, but we oddly have this problem on all 5 of our phones and my friends even with a full signal.

I work at home and it is a crap shoot if I can maintain a connection for more than 1 minute. Wife has AT&T and gets 3 bars, but not sure I want to go with them.

can not get reception in my split level basement. calls go directly to voice mail quiite a bit everywhere in eugne springfield

Reception is spotty here with lots of topography. Little line-of-site to nearest cell tower north of King Estates winery. Car roof antenna helps here about 1 additional bar of signal strength, making dropped calls unusual. With this phone, I get zero to two bars of signal inside the house. Reception sound is relatively clear compared to the Motorola 815 I had before, but the Motorola was more sensitive, with few complaints about voice quality on the other end. The 815 produced more garbled incoming sound from other phones than does the LG 8300. The car roof antenna, a vertical ground plane type wired directly to the phone, makes call completions possible along 4 miles of Lorane Hwy, whereas nothing works without it with either phone.

I have had no trouble getting 5 bars most of the time in the metropolitan areas of Eugene / Springfield.
