My Sprint works great through all of Klamath Falls. There are a few spots where I roam like on Wocus rd north of town in the side of a big hill, and in Falcon Heights south of town, again, in the side of a huge hill, but the best thing is Sprint has free roaming. So I Never even have to worry about it. Chiloquin for the most part is covered really well just visted a few friends and went to Klamoya casino (Spelled corect?) and I even had reception up on Crater Lake! (pretty sure it was roaming though, to be honest I rarely check because it doesn't cost me anything) My phone worked in every place I used it without fail. I hope this helps.
This is just a general comment for people researching cell phone carriers in this area. I know at least a 2 dozen people in the KF area with verison, and all of them are currently happy with their reception. We have been out to gerber, Howard prairie, to the lava beds, and other suitably isolated areas around here, and my families verison phones had full bars almost everywhere. Meanwhile, my T-Mobile phone is lucky to find a signal when I can see the cell tower. Stupid contract.
Hate T-mobile. Switched because my US-Cellular bill kept changing. This phone has scratchy reception and I get dropped calls. I'll go from full bars to no bars inside my own house. The Voice mail is weird. Sometimes I'll get a message days later or I'll call and get my husbands voice mail on my phone. We've also been going over our minutes and I don't see how. I'll check it the day before and we're fine then the next day we're over! The costumer service said sometimes charges roll over from the previous bill, What?! Anyway, US Cellular is more expensive, but it is way better. We are switching back!
They Have Pretty Good Service. But When Theres Thunder Or Rain Storms, Your Service Is Gone. Also At The Intersection Of Keller And Hwy. 39, Theres A Dead Zone For At&t. But Other Than That, I Have 5 Bars All The Time. Except When I Go To Henley For School. Then I Have 2 Or 3. Same With Running Y 1 Or 2 Bars Out There.
In the dorms, service is bearable, between 2 and 5 bars all the time with the exception of east side bottom floors (old building, 1.5 foot think cement walls... can't blame the carrier for that one.) However, in town service is only mediocre, between 0 and 3 bars usually, and traveling any farther down Washburn than S 6th usually leads to no service for me. Great plan, but AT&T service (any GSM based service as well) is far from good in Klamath Falls and the surrounding area. On the upside, all my friends on Verizon have fantastic service for the most part, with the cement building problem still causing trouble. Would like an extra tower or two for substantial GSM coverage!
Great reception, great phone. It holds a charge for days! My only issue is my bill. It is never consistent. It's always different. I'm on a family 1000 minute plan for 79.99 and my bill ranges from $95-$110. I'm switching to T-Mobile because my friend says the bill never changes, 59.99 for 700 minutes. It will wait to be seen if I get dropped for being in the roaming area.
