Purchased online and used in Ashland with no problem. East of the Cascades it worked at first, so I bought $100 time... a little later, no reception. Local AT&T store said: "Sorry, we didn't tell you GoPhone prepaid won't work east of the mountains." That was certainly not their fault, because the phone was purchased online. Gave the phone to a friend who lives in the east of the mountains. Verizon works well in almost all but the most remote areas.

Coverage is excellent at home due to tower nearby. Overall I have been very satisfied with coverage as I work in a wide variety of remote locations in Oregon, N. California, and E. Washington. Many times I have gotten coverage in areas deemed "cell phone black holes." There are definitely cellular black holes in remote spots though, usually in predictable areas. Sometimes an amplifier helps mostly not since I have only a single band amp.

This is just a general comment for people researching cell phone carriers in this area. I know at least a 2 dozen people in the KF area with verison, and all of them are currently happy with their reception. We have been out to gerber, Howard prairie, to the lava beds, and other suitably isolated areas around here, and my families verison phones had full bars almost everywhere. Meanwhile, my T-Mobile phone is lucky to find a signal when I can see the cell tower. Stupid contract.

Hate T-mobile. Switched because my US-Cellular bill kept changing. This phone has scratchy reception and I get dropped calls. I'll go from full bars to no bars inside my own house. The Voice mail is weird. Sometimes I'll get a message days later or I'll call and get my husbands voice mail on my phone. We've also been going over our minutes and I don't see how. I'll check it the day before and we're fine then the next day we're over! The costumer service said sometimes charges roll over from the previous bill, What?! Anyway, US Cellular is more expensive, but it is way better. We are switching back!

In the dorms, service is bearable, between 2 and 5 bars all the time with the exception of east side bottom floors (old building, 1.5 foot think cement walls... can't blame the carrier for that one.) However, in town service is only mediocre, between 0 and 3 bars usually, and traveling any farther down Washburn than S 6th usually leads to no service for me. Great plan, but AT&T service (any GSM based service as well) is far from good in Klamath Falls and the surrounding area. On the upside, all my friends on Verizon have fantastic service for the most part, with the cement building problem still causing trouble. Would like an extra tower or two for substantial GSM coverage!

Great reception, great phone. It holds a charge for days! My only issue is my bill. It is never consistent. It's always different. I'm on a family 1000 minute plan for 79.99 and my bill ranges from $95-$110. I'm switching to T-Mobile because my friend says the bill never changes, 59.99 for 700 minutes. It will wait to be seen if I get dropped for being in the roaming area.

Just changed carriers. At the store, phones worked perfectly (in Medford). In Klamath Falls, phones won't call each other or our land line.

Fantastic reception in Southview, and all around town and on the highways. Only issue is that after having T-Mobile for 6 months, they canceled my contract because I was making too many roaming phone calls- and my house is within the roaming part of town (a unicel tower).

I *love* US Cellular. My reception around town is always great. I live off of Pacific Terrace and never have trouble at home. Driving up 97 toward Bend I get reception most of the time. Customer service is super friendly--the folks in the shop down on Main St.are particularly helpful and patient with any questions I have.

While visiting my Dad in Klamath Falls my T-Moble phone will not work until I get right in down town. It will not work by OIT or the Hospital. I have to be in town and then it will work. While staying at the Red Lion on 6th St.it will work fine. I have never had in reception on my phone coming in to town from Hwy. 97 until I get to Michican Ave and Main Street. I was looking at this site because I wanted to get my Dad a cell phone and it has been very helpful seeing this information. Thanks for all your comments.

Brought my son down to the College campus during summer orientation and the phone worked fine on the campus and even in the dorms, so we got the 'family plan' so he could have one at school. When we took him to start the school year, I don't know what had changed, but the phones were totally inoperable near the campus. Complained to T-Mobile, and they would 'check on it' - but a year later there is no difference... so we're stuck with a phone that is totally useless 99% of the time. Also, whenever I call to talk to customer service from my home in Prineville, the call-center mishandles my call and drops it. The last time was three different people, including a supervisor. In the middle of a conversation, they would say something like "Hold on, let me check on something... " and the 'click', followed by dead air, and after a few seconds, nothing. If they can't even keep their call-center phones on line, you know it's bad!

I can't get any reception at my house at all. I can sometimes get reception at Safeway on 6th. I moved here from CA and Cingular will not let me out of my contract because I signed down there even though I get no reception at my home, work or school here. STAY AWAY FROM CINGULAR! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

Have had AT&T TDMA for several years and it has worked well until recently. Traveled this week from Vancouver, WA to Klamath Falls and had no service or very weak signal in many places that were fine before. Having trouble in Klamath Falls with poor reception and weak signal. Might be time to change.

I have had good coverage with Verizon in the Klamath Falls area. Also good coverage inside the OIT buildings (I think there is a tower on the highway several hundred yards away). If traveling to Medford, there is coverage available roaming off of US Cellular towers (although can be spotty at times, but it's a pretty remote area).

Travelled to Klamath falls, from the heart of good 3g AT&T coverage and was going to stay for a bit - > had AT&T coverage with Edge for 3 days = something or somebody switched Off-Network and it won't reset!?! Now their giving grief over Off-network useage! Looks they haven't delivered again - on their promises!???! Sad thing was that this started when still down in the hot area - think they are trying to brand "high useage"! Pretty hard to do that in kfalls with Edge!

My Sprint works great through all of Klamath Falls. There are a few spots where I roam like on Wocus rd north of town in the side of a big hill, and in Falcon Heights south of town, again, in the side of a huge hill, but the best thing is Sprint has free roaming. So I Never even have to worry about it. Chiloquin for the most part is covered really well just visted a few friends and went to Klamoya casino (Spelled corect?) and I even had reception up on Crater Lake! (pretty sure it was roaming though, to be honest I rarely check because it doesn't cost me anything) My phone worked in every place I used it without fail. I hope this helps.
