Extremely poor reception: Drop calls, intermit-data access... even in town, although better, still quite poor.

Since AT&T took over Cingular, nothing has changed. The Reception Sucks and they have promised new Towers for years now, and nothing has changed. I plan to Switch as soon as I can! Gow with U.S Cellular or Verizon now!

every once in a while we will a call in however we can never answer it because it cuts out. They keep on saying that they are putting up new towers however after 3 years with them, I have yet to see an improvement. We will be looking into higher power phones, analog / digital options, antennae, etc.

Wish I had found this website before I went with Cingular. Didn't even know I had 30 days to cancel, thought it was me not knowing how to use phone. I cancelled on 34th day. I paid the canc. fee rather than continue 2 yr. contract and be unable to use. I get tiny signal. If 3 bars, I'm lucky. Cingular says"tough" I say they shouldn't be selling plans to people in my area since they can't provide a signal. Had to drive 2.5miles away before I could get a decent signal. People couldn't hear me, dropped calls. Couldn't even call 4 miles across town it was breaking up so badly. Found out too late, neighbors had trouble, too.

ATT GSM network service is awful (please read it SUCKS!) in the Southern Oregon Rogue Valley. My sony e610 phone doesn't even work half the time due to poor reception. Besides that ATT charges me extra (usually $30/month) for incoming "call forwarding" calls even when I don't answer them, due to the phone automatically reverts to another network signal because ATT is so weak. ATT has been little or no help solving the problems...wish I could get out of my contract.

Reception in East Medford is average on a good day. Right in the middle of the largest town in Southern Oregon and it will drop a call.

Poor reception and rude customer service. Our medical practice had ATT for several years and then switched to the GMS system. In 12 / 04 the service started getting bad ( this was the time of the Cingular merge) To date the service is so bad that we can no longer count on it for the practice. We experience ongoing dropped calls, multiple missed messages and poor broken scratchy transmissions. In my interactions with Cingular / ATT they said that they had no obligation to provide clear service. They didn't seem to care that I was a doctor and that the lack of service was putting our patients at risk. They told me" to bad if you don't like it pay the cancellation fee! Does anyone know anything about a class action law suit or any recourse?

Service reception is scratchy at best. Often can not understand other person or they can not hear me. Network often busy. Cell does not always ring and messages are often "lost" for days only to appear. I switched to ATT because of shared mobile to mobile and have regreted it because of product quality since the beginning. Switched phones hoping it would help- it did not. Isue is not with phone, but service. Can't wait to get out of my contract.

This has to be the worst service and phone I have ever had. Changed from US Cell 8 months ago and cant wait to change back. All of my sub contractors agree and tell me costantly that my phone sucks.

AT&T Wireless (now Cingular) has improved its GSM coverage in Medford over the past few months (from horrible to fair). Rural areas - even those that have substantial populations are still not covered. Only TDMA works in outlying areas... although even that is weak and spotty.

I've had AT&T GSM for about 4 months now and I can't stand it. Even when I manage to get a signal and the network isn't busy. Voice seems to cut in and out. It's a lot like when you're streaming music on the net and it gets choppy when bandwidth is low. Sometimes even when I'm just getting the phone ringing sound, I can hear it starting to cut out. Only 8 more months til my contract is up, I can't wait.

Great service. If your using an older phone just make sure it is using the latest software version. If our not then take it to your nearest Nextel center and have them check it.

Sprint has covered Medford. As well as Talent, Phoenix, Ashland and Central Point. Provided you have an up to date phone that GETS good reception, you will almost never have a reception problem in these areas. Now because we are in Oregon, places in the mountains like: Applegate, Ruch, Grants Pass (outskirts) are most likely roaming. Now White City you will get coverage, might not be great though, be warned. Shady Cove and Eagle Point, No... probobly not. All in all great coverage here, if your not a mountain man. Sprint rocks here, they even have a 300 person Call Center here in South Medford!

Spent great deal of time with T-Mobile kiosk in Costco, especially talking about coverage. You can no longer trust sales person... sad. Coverage extremely poor. Don't get "missed call" warning; my wife told me she called several times. Web connect only works great at home within my wireless network. Stuck with contract. Sure wish US Cellular had more current equipment as they have best service in southern Oregon area. Will switch back to them anyway. Smartphones aren't so smart after all.

TMobile offers xlnt plans and great phones. After spending 2 hours with their kiosk at Costco and leaving with an armload of equipment, we were incredibly disappointed to find that we had no 3G coverage and no cell coverage at home. We only live a short distance from the store in East Medford. Talking with their tech supt we learned that reception is a MAJOR issue in this valley and their engineers are aware of the problem but can do nothing about it at this time. Seems somewhat questionable that they would be pushing a service that isn't... .. a service.

T-Mobile frankly told me the reception was poor at my home (after I moved here with a long contract pending -- c'est la vie). T-Mobile reception Good in Downtown Medford, S. Medford; Average along I-5 through most of Rogue Valley. Honest customer service -- not evasive or rude. But POOR covearge in NE Medford suburbs!

All over town, Medford, OR 97504 Tue Jun 22, 2004

When I purchased this plan I did not need a phone other than an occasional outgoing call. Six months later I needed the phone for my job and I discovered how bad the service truly is and how much T-Mobile really doesn't care. I have my phone with me constantly and miss every call because it never rings and the service never connects them to my phone so I never am notified of a missed call. I got up this morning to 6 voicemail messages dating as far back as 3 days ago and not one missed call listed nor one ring of my phone! I bought another phone although this is a current Nokia with internet capabilities. No difference with another phone. I asked T-Mobile to let me out of my contract because I will have to duplicate service to have a phone - they said - "Thanks for telling us so we know where to put towers someday in the future." I am in a major city along I-5 in Southern Oregon - an area well within the coverage map - yet now they tell me it is a designated borderline area - never told me before I purchased the plan for a year. I am very unhappy and advise anyone to steer clear of this company.
