Cricket has no service here, I am two miles from the cricket store. No resolutions, Multiple service area tickets sent by me and the Cricket retailer, the people at the corporate store were no help, local retailer said wait two months for a new tower to be built.Im paying for no service at all.

AT&T provides great phone service; however, if you have any phone other than an iPhone or Blackberry you will get annoyed rapidly. The area is hilly and they are putting up more towers; but, I have been told for months on end that the tower will be up and running at the end of the month. Today, end of August when again it was suppose to be up and working, it now won't be up until September 30th. It is just lie after lie. The aircard I have with them is great in 4 / 5 bar areas; however, here we are lucky to get one or two and web pages do not load. For the cell phone you must have the phone in 2G mode and not 3G or it is dropped calls galore. So, when I am home, I move it to 2G and when I get on the road I move it back to the 3G. That takes care of the phone issue. The aircard is still a problem. And, I usually have 5,000 minutes or more per month because of the nature of my job. I would recommend AT&T but only with the iPhone and Blackberry.

went from T-Mobile to Cricket and have found out exactly why they call this company the ghetto cell phone company. Their customer service sucks and reception is just as bad if not worse.

Dropped calls are occasional, with weak signal. This has been a problem for years with no improvement offered by Verizon with various phones.

My LG VX4600 is unusable in the house - 0 to 1 tower. On my deck I get 0 to 3 towers and can usually use the phone. My wife's Motorola e815 works in limited areas of the house but does give some drops. I have a loanded Cingular Motorola v557 which works nicely in the house. My Verison plan is up Dec 1, 2006. I'm considering Cingular, but have some reservations. I like their rollover minutes. I like using the cell in the house, however, we plan to sell the home in the summer and I'm not so sure I want a 2 year contract for a cell phone as we don't know where we will eventually call home.

I seem to get great reception unless I am in my house then reception is poor, in my shop (a metal building) no reception, unless the door is open, but the same goes for my cordless phone. I am considering buying a repeater for the house and shop to boost the indoor signal, but at 300-500 dollars a pop it will hurt.

I have had AT&T now Cingular service for 4 years. Service was good before but has deteriated to almost no service. I have a family plan with three phones. I renewed my contract about a year ago and service has gotten worse and worse. I call the service department and they only want to sell me a new longer contract. I keep my side of the contract up by paying my bill in full and on time. Is there anyway to make a cell phone company hold up there side of the contract by providing the service they agreeded to in the contract. I lose service all over the city. Even at 30th and Sandy. My wife and I joke when we get dropped three of four times on my way home from work that Cingular has decided that 'family time must be up". I seldom turn on my phone at home this way I do not have to charge it as often and do not have to pay for wasted electricity for a service that does not work. I have asked to get out of my contract or for Cingular to provide the service I pay for and they say they do not have to provide the service (event the level I had when I signed the contract and could have gotten out of it by day 14, but it worked then and now it doesn't?) but I do have to pay and there is no way to get out of it. I have not moved and it is not the phone. I have 3 and they work in some places but not others so I know it is the coverage. I am willing to pay for service but I do not think it is accually unreasonable to have it work, at least most of the time. I have been told that the cancellation fee is to pay for the phones. If they are so valuable I will gladly give them back? I understand they need to have customers stay on their service to make a profit but black mail is not the way to do it. Good customer service would work much better. I work for a cable company that does not have contracts and you can cancel anytime you want and we seldom have customers leave because of crappy sevice. I wish Cingular could do the same. I have spent countless hours with their customer service and made many many trips to their stores and service continues to deteriate. Do cell phone companies have any accountability at all? With such poor service a cancellation fee of $525 is completly unreasonable.

We too have been T-Mobile customers for many years. Also, starting in April we lost a major portion of service. We always had service in our home and from home to Hwy. 205. Now there are about 2 spots that we can get reception. It is not the phone, as my husband and I have two different phones, his more expensive than mine. We were also told that nothing has changed with service in our area. However, it is sure strange that we can not longer get the same service we had for at least 6 years. Something has changed in this area and T-Mobile is not about to tell us what that may be.

I've had AT&T for 7+ years and have had relatively good success. In Oregon City the coverage is good with only a few dead spots (halfway down Hwy. 213 for one). I also have always got coverage in remote areas including East of Mt Hood. Have considered switching to the GSM but they even admit the coverage is not good enough in the O.C. or in the remote areas where I need it to be. I've been told several times more GSM towers will be online soon and eventually the TDMA towers will be switched over. I'm starting to suspect that is happening because I'm starting to find more deadspots where they weren't before (along 205 near West Linn for example). I've been without a contract for 2 years trying to patiently wait for the GSM network to be ready. Looks like I may need to venture beyond AT&T (Cingular) or stick it out further. Verizon may be the way to go?
