Driving To Seattle / 15 and Knott intersection, Portland, OR 97212 Sun Jan 08, 2006

Verizon is great in Pdx but have you tried driving or Amtrak to Seattle? It goes roaming or dead from Longview to Centralia (about 2 hours). When I am onthe train, I see other people using T-Mobile and other services making calls without problems. Verizon should fix this since this is a major "commute" in the region.

Solid reception just about everywhere we have tried in the city, but Verizon is just too expensive so may have to switch when contract ends

Coverage is great in the rose city area. Been with ATT and now Cingular. Coverage for the most part has been great.

Since we were forced to migrate from At&T to Cingular our service has been horrible. It sounds like I've been getting the same run around from the Cingular reps as many other folks. They are in the process of sending me new phones but I'm almost sure that that will not remedy the problem. Lately our service has gotten so bad that I can only dial out about 10% of the time, and even then almost every single call is dropped. If these new phones don't fix the problem I'm going to demand to be released from my contract since they are not rendering the service that I am being charged for.

My wife and I BOTH have the MORTOROLA V180. (by the way, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE). The reception is poor just about everywhere we go. It's obviously the V180 since we both have the same service and phone, yet our other two roommates have the cheap Nokia phones the come with the plan for free. Those Nokias always work great! Don't be tempted to get a flip phone unless you spend a lot of money (and time researching it)!

Have tried most major cell phone companies. Verizon is the only one I can use inside my house without losing calls. Customer service is wonderful. I am a huge fan of Verizon.

Having much better luck with Cingular than Verizon here. Both work but Verizon often missed calls, even with 2-3 bars. Deep inside several loft buildings, including Marshall Wells, The Edge and The Avenue: Verizon: 0-2 bars Cingular: 3-5 bars Outside on the street: Verizon: 3-5 bars Cingular: 5 bars

I can generally call out just fine, even with no bars. Incoming calls don't usually make it, though. Only the voicemail notifications.
