AT&T sucks as much here in the zip code of 97229 (NW Portland, Rock Creek, OR - Tanasbourne) over to zip code 97217 (Swan Island, Portland, OR). I get 1-2 bars, and then it will just go to "SOS" mode with no bars. It used to work better last year. Due to it getting worse rather than better I would say that AT&T is CHOOSING to have their reception be worse. I am getting rid of this phone, and AT&T as we speak. I am going back to Verizon, or a WiFi Skype phone.
As always, Verizon never fails me in reception on my Nokia camera phone. I drive all over the state, and all over the country for that matter. Verizon is "the bomb". I just have to hunt high and low for quality phones that I like (that don't suck), but once I found my *cute* little Nokia 6236i camera phone? I bought it outright and have been very happy.
Terrible service – about 95% of the calls are dropped. Even though the phone shows several bars most (good signal), the calls are dropped constantly. You will not be able to finish a 10 minute call without getting dropped. I am on Caxton Lane in Forest Heights.
I guess the plan is good if you like chasing bars all day, rarely works in a building and on sidewalks. but you can talk while stopping traffic in portland and only to battleground wa. I have no service now so whats the point,i dont return home for like 3 more days hope no one needs to talk to me!!
I just switched from Nokia 6102i phones (2G network) to Nokia 6650 phones (3G network). Inside the condo, the reception used to be Good to Perfect. Now, I have very poor reception. I get "Connection Errors" even with four or five bars, and calls to me often go to voicemail. One tower has had a severely degraded signal since I reported the problems two weeks ago. AT&T indicated that they were going to construct more towers, but who knows when. I can't force my phones to 2G, so may return them within 30 days and shop for another carrier.
At times, the phone will show full service when I set it down. As soon as I make a call it drops to nothing! Most of the time I can't connect, sometimes I can and I can't hear the other person but they can hear me. I have to walk up the road to get service! Been with Sprint for 5 years until I moved here, have tried 4 different phones, no luck. Am switching providers. I'm on SW Pomona to be exact, between Barbur and Capitol Highway.
My phone NEVER works in this area (I live here). If it says I have reception, and I attempt to make the call, it either doesn't go through or the call immediately gets dropped.
