Reception all over Portland is spectacular with this phone. I agree alot has to do with the phone. If you want cricket go to craigslist and buy a higher quality crickeet phone for less dough. My Kyocera I bought from Cricket for too much money was complete garbage. I had intermitten issues with it. After about a week it fell off the bed and the screens shattered. I picked up my Nokia 6165i for 60 bucks from craigslist, and I have not had a single problem since. Only issues I've had are out in Beaverton ner milikan and Murray, at the Murry Business Center, there are a couple of spots where dropped calls are the norm. I think they have a cell jammer inside the building.

No complaints about the reception but the customer service has been far below average. We haven't been able to send or receive pictures at all in 2 months and they still haven't fixed the problem. The reps at 1800CRICKET have been very incompetent as well and have given misinformation multiple times. Nonetheless, I can't complain about the plans or coverage unless you plan on leaving Portland, even nationwide roaming doesn't seem to get you service in much of the state.

I cannot get through a call without it dropping out. The reception fluctuates minute to minute. I am soon switching. There are cell phone towers above the Alziemer's Care Facility between 35th Pl and 37th, so I might pop in and ask them what carrier set them up.

Picture messageing is great! Too bad my friends and family could not understand me! I even tried a signal booster! Hard to hear, garbled, sounds like ends and beginnings of words were cutting out! I was really hoping that CricKet would be "the one!" I guess I will bust buy a new battery for my AMAZING OLD NOKIA and keep my US Cellular service! THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN EXCELLENT!

For the last week I get "No Network Coverage" in my neighborhood. I work downtown and get great coverage there.

Seems that reception with ATT in the Woodstock area has dropped to nothing.

I originally had ATT but couldn't get reliable reception so I switched to Verizon. I get 2 to 3 bars inside my home and seldom have any reception problems with Verizon.

North Portland SUCKS for any phone company, I was with VRZN for 9 years and when I moved to NoPo the lack of reception was intolerable so after 4 years of promises I moved to T-Mob which was only slightly better if that, maybe it was more tolerable cause it was cheaper. As to the guy that said Verizon was planning on putting more towers in, LOL from day one 5 years ago they would feed me the same lies and have still not done a freaking things to improve service over in N-Portland. My contract is up with T-Mob and I am desperately trying to find a company with some sort of integrity for service but after reading the posting here I am losing hope. ARG!

At home the old ATT Wireless didn't work at all. I've been with Verizon because I got at least 1-2 bars. With with the new ATT recently, and getting 4-5 bars at home! Have had great reception all over town. I found customer service to be greatly improved over my dealings with Cingular or the old ATT Wireless.
