my service was really bad when I first moved out here like 3 years ago then after a few months it got better. so here we go again service is going downhill since march of 2010. dropped calls phone not ringing, getting double text messages, no bars very frusterating. I have called T-Mobile they said they would have a tech check it out in 5 days and would get back to me so the tech did get back to me but no technician went and checked on it.he told me so guess what my service still sucks. I wont be signing another contract with tmobile.

Spotty coverage in a prominent neighborhood on the west side. I need to stand by a window upstairs to barely get any kind of service. Even then its spotty... Very disappointing... only 2 miles away from HWY 26 and HWY 217. Need to improve coverage in this area! Too bad its a company phone or else I'd chuck it too...

I almost never complete a call without someone saying "can you repeat, I can't understand you". Numerous dropped calls and non responsiveness with AT and T customer service. I have another friend who has AT and T with a non iphone and says he does great. I continue to amass screen shots with one and no bars to send over to counter the claims that they have great service in my area.

I was with Sprint for over 10 years, service worked well in the city. It drops off fast as you leave the city for fishing and camping. Moved to NE and no signal in my basement. Turns out that recently their roaming agreements have changed so I can't roam where I used to be able to. Bit the bullet and switched to Verizon, network seems better so far but you sure pay for it.

I think the ratings for this should be changed. I have to choose bars instead of call quality. I average about 1-3 bars in my house but have only dropped 3 calls in the past 2 months. When I used the Nokia E71 I was dropping calls every other day because I was "holding it wrong". Also when I drive around the neighborhood I manage to get though each call with no issue.

I get no reception in the house and have to stand at the end of the driveway to be able to talk to anyone. Service is still spotty sometimes, though, with dropped calls and poor reception.

Had to stand outside or in the perfect spot at home in order to make or answer a call. Phone never worked in any basement. Always seemed to have full bars until I hit the talk button. Has major dead zones down NE Ainsworth, between NE Skidmore and Alberta. TMobile said that they had more towers but then started dropping calls down the I5 corridor, at Lloyd Center, at any Target store, and in SW Portland (near PCC Sylvania). Customer service was always very nice (in person and on phone) but the coverage map isn't realistic.

Switched to AT&T after many reception problems with TMobile. Now I always have reception at home and in the basement. Also have reception in N. Portland, off of NE 33rd, in Gresham, and Gladstone. No problems near the PCC Sylvania or Rock Creek campus either. Only dead zone so far has been on the way to the beach for about 10-20 min. Sometimes my internet is a little slow to load but my phone has issues and I almost always can make calls when I need to.

Reception is ok on the street but not in the houses. Signal is sufficient only in northwest corner of house. The hill may be blocking the signal. The power saving mode of the phone may be compounding the problem too. The signal is better if the phone was just turned on, when it runs in high power mode. Later the bars drop so low it won't receive or make calls without turning it off / on or moving to a stronger signal spot. Even turning it off / on doesn't help in the back of the house. Tried using a signal boost repeater, but it didn't seem to help. Also, not knowing the nearest tower location didn't help because I cannot point the repeater's antenna in the proper direction. It would be helpful to have more antenna locations in this data base.

South of Canyon along 87th doesn't get enough of a signal to hold a phone call reliably. Can text and use mobile web slowly. North side of Canyon is fine. Reception isn't an issue elsewhere in the metro area.

I get nothing at all in my basement and 1 bar if I'm lucky elsewhere in the house. I make jokes that "the Sprint truck just went to the next block to let them make a call" whenever a call gets dropped - which is very frequent. I sometimes have to go through 4 or more phone calls to get the details back and forth. I get great reception downtown but at my house it is more trouble than it's worth to try to use my phone. I'm seriously thinking about using another provider.

I moved from NW (off 21st) and had no problems with reception to SE (34th and Clinton) and the reception is HORRIBLE. If I'm in my house, I generally can't make it through a call with dropping it multiple times. I called AT&T to complain and all they told me was they can't guarantee service indoors. However, today I was sitting outside on the patio and my call dropped from there as well. A family member told me (after viewing a picture of my house and seeing the electrical lines) that the electrical lines are what is causing the interference with reception. I guess I'll be looking at crappy service until I move.

I get good reception in my new place, which is a MAJOR improvement over my old place in NoPo, where I had to walk down the street to escape the dead zone around me. Pretty consistent 3G coverage too.

Rarely drops calls, rarely have problems anywhere in the city, except for one particular spot: my place of work; it's terrible: 8111 S.W. West Slope Dr.(near border of Washington and Multnomah County, near top of the Sylvan hill off Rte. 26).

I get absolutely no signal in half of my house, while I get a weak signal with frequently dropped calls in the other half. Also, internet connection is slow at best when I'm at home. While there are some places outside of my house where I get a strong signal with fast internet, it isn't the norm. I've traveled the western US with my girlfriend, who has AT&T. She consistently has a better signal than I do. However, I'm switching to Verizon as soon as my contract is up. The plans cost more, but it seems that their coverage is the most consistent on a national level.
