The only places around town where it drops calls are in underground garages and inside a large building (like in a hospital). This is in sharp contrast to when I used to have AT&T wireless a couple of years ago, when calls were dropped so frequently that my friends thought I was developing antisocial personality traits.

I switched from Verizon, which rarely dropped calls, to T-Mobile which almost always shows 0 or 1 bar of signal. Sad. Don't do T-Mobile in the SW hills.

Spotty reception at my house and I drop a call every time I get to the bottom of Valleria View Drive. I drop calls fairly often as I get on 217 too. Lots of bars but dropped calls. I've been complaining for a year and a half but no real improvement. WIll be switching as soon as contract is up!

It normally varies between 1-2 bars out of 4 in my house. My previous Sanyo and my wife's new Sanyo are slightly better with a steady 2 bars inside. Haven't dropped a call except in my basement. Sometimes the caller's voice will cut out for under a second. My work Cingular Motorola phone has slightly better indoor signal. Sprint has plans to put in a new tower at Walgreens on Lombard within 120 days.

Almost no reception. With all the high end houses, how can the carriers no put a tower up here. It is ridiculous!

I have had no problems with T-Mobile reception anywhere in Portland. I always seem to have a good signal.

I've had my Cricket phone for a little over two months and I get great reception in the Pearl District. I switched from Cingular where it seemed I was dropping a lot of calls. They must have a cell site in the middle of the Pearl District, becasue I usually get 5 bars. I travel to Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast, and to Central Oregon occasionally and Cricket's roaming works fine. I'm sold on Cricket. Flat rate. No contract. Works great.”

I switched from Cingular to Cricket when they came to the market. The unlimited anytime minutes every month for a flat rate was extremely attractive to me since I use my phone all the time for business and personal. I have found the coverage to be terrific. I was constantly dropping calls with my Cingular phone. I experience a lot of echo on my Cingular service also. I can count the dropped calls I have had with my Cricket phone on one hand. I haven't had any echo. I find Cricket to be an exceptional value.
