I switched from Cingular to Cricket when they came to the market. The unlimited anytime minutes every month for a flat rate was extremely attractive to me since I use my phone all the time for business and personal. I have found the coverage to be terrific. I was constantly dropping calls with my Cingular phone. I experience a lot of echo on my Cingular service also. I can count the dropped calls I have had with my Cricket phone on one hand. I haven't had any echo. I find Cricket to be an exceptional value.
My cricket phone is the cheapest one they had and it works great. I had a razor with T-Mobile that dropped calls all the time and barely worked in my apt. in Tigard. Plus, my bill is always the same! Hands down... .. BUY CRICKET!
Great reception with my new Cricket phone. Much better than my old Cingular, with better voice quality and far, far fewer drops. It may be inexpensive, but it works great!
i was really skeptical about cricket at first but gave it a try anyways and I couldnt be more happy. I live in happy valley outside of clackamas and even out there I get great service. in the 3 months i've had there service i've only dropped a whopping 2 calls. Overall advise is to try it out cause I was told they'd be so so but ended up being amazing with out ever goin over a phone bill :) never a penny over 52.10 a month with web.. everything.
I've had my Cricket phone for a little over two months and I have to report that they have built a very solid network in Portland. I switched from Cingular where it seemed I was dropping every third or fourth call. Cricket has had high call quality in areas that Cingular and Verizon just don't preform very well. I travel to Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast, and to Central Oregon occasionally and Cricket's roaming works very well. I'm sold on Cricket. Flat rate. No contract. Works good.
Couln't be worse... When you can't step outside you know its bad service. Garbled and dropped. Voicemail alert is slow too. Someone would leave a message and I wouldn't get it for a long while.
The phone works pretty well in a lot of places, and poorly in others. It seems that 162nd in portland is a 'dead zone'. I dont get ANY reception in my house (theres 2 decent spots, 1 by my window, and one in my bed... other then that its 1 or 0 bars.). I thought it was just Sprint but my Ex had a phone that was just as bad (i think it was cingular). She couldnt get Texts or call inside my house (or anywhere on 162nd for that matter). Im planning on getting a Helio, hopefully it gets better reception.
