live in a small town just North of Roseburg, However I work and go to school in Town; with US Cellular I don't lose service anywhere in town or much outside of town either. I drive to the coast often and I lose service in about one spot and not for over a couple minutes if that. I also lose service North above Drain for a minute or so as well. I do a bit of hunting and I get above average service even up in the mountains. with those obvious exceptions of canyons and way back places. Their phone selection is improving however is not like the competitors which is dissappointing, but not a set back. Overall I am reluctant to switch carriers ever, because of the high service quality I recieve with US Cellular.

Years ago, before Verizon bought Ramcell the coverage in Roseburg was not impressive. With all of the new towers that Verizon has built there's no place that I know of in Douglas County that a different company like AT and T or US Cellular works that Verizon doesnt. Sprint customers lose reception the soonest it seems. I havnt tried T Mobile but I dont hear good things. If you want the most coverage Verizon is the way to go.

Sprint's coverage is fairly consistent around town and between Roseburg and Winston. Right about what you'd expect for such a rural area. I generally have about 3-4 bars (not that the number of bars matters) outside and 1-2 inside, depending on where I go. I only drop calls occasionally at home in Green, but constantly in the brick buliding where I work in Roseburg. The reception on the BB Tour is terrible compared to the Curve. I'm amazed that people are complaining on here about the local valleys off of I-5... why would the companies build towers in areas where so few people live?! This comment: "I love AT&T and all the 3g available in the small town of Roseburg, Oregon. Plus I always receive excellent customer service from the store in the Roseburg Valley Mall." almost looks like someone who works at the local AT&T store found this website...

No reception past Rock Creek and Hwy. 138, and there is a dead spot at the "Narrows Park", less reception in Idleyld Park proper, 5 full bars from Glide West. In the Idleyld Park area we have tested over 5 service providers, most have NO SERVICE! East from Rock Creek, service returns at Lemolo and is perfect at Diamond Lake. Hikers should NOT expect any cellular service on the North Umpqua trail system! Also GPS is also very limited.

I can drive all over Roseburg and not find dead spots. I have found them on I-5 around Drain and a few other places. You can't chat your way to Portland and not expect your call to get dropped here and there. Very clear reception in Roseburg even with an earbud. US Cellular seems to be a year behind in their phone selections. NO smart phones with infared, as an example. Most companies are switching over to GSM and US Cellular is still CDMA. Will see if they go the way of the rest of the world. (That doesn't mean in my estimation that GSM is any better) I will probably stay with US Cellular despite the poor phone selection. So far they have the best reception in town

Cingular Wireless Offers No Service for Pay as you go customers Here. You may get to call 911 in an emergency. I talked to their Customer service and found that they have one Cell tower and no service. This is not what a traveller wants to hear. My wife tried her LG 310 and got no service

In the rural hills west of Roseburg Oregon, about 12 miles outside of town, my Verizon Service is pretty good. I can send and make calls from a remote five acre property with western exposure with ease. I can receive incoming cell phone calls with the same ease.
