Drop calls when I hit this intersection. Not just once, but every single time.

We can always count on a dropped call between Sherwood and Newberg on 99w. Also, on Tualatin-Sherwood HWY between Sherwood and Tualatin. At least it's consistant so we prepare for it. This didn't happen with Verizon. So, is CDMA still better than GSM?

For the most part, I get 5 bars except: 1) between Sherwood and Wilsonville on back roads (Tooze) 2) between Sherwood and Wilsonville (Tonquin) 3) at home! And this is the most aggravating. I will show 5 bars, but people on the other end will drop off from hearing me all the time. On top of this, anyone you talk to at Cingular is a sales person or first line call center, that have no real knowledge about cellular technology. So they are no help. I get everything from: 1) turn your cellphone off and on 2) take your battery and put back in 3) takeyour sim card out and put back in 4) we'll send an update to your phone 5) we are putting in new towers next few months 6) send in your phone for a replacement (of course you will likely get a refrubished phone - I wouldn't mind if I really believed the phone was a problem) 7) change to 503 area code number (I have out of state number - again, I wouldn't mind if someone with real technical knowledge could confirm why this would have any effect) I'm not sure any of this stuff has any real improvement factor. And they all sound like they have never heard of any such problems. In fact they say this is a good signal area and I should have no problems. On top of all this, if you want to talk to someone with knowledge, you call the number and you can wait for hours without ever getting someone to take you off hold. I really don't believe there is anyone at the number. So much for my frustration. Would another cell company be any better? Do high gain antennas really work? What about inexpensive cell repeaters?
