I guess you can get reception about 3.5 miles towards Waldport, OR, traveling west from Taylor's Landing and Marina

The Virgin pay as you go plan is great and can be had for about $10 a month if you don't use the phone a lot. But not on the Oregon coast, where it is useless, as of July, 2005. It seems they offer good coverage along all the major interstate highways. I think they use the Sprint service area, but I could be wrong about that.
