On Elm Dr.I say poor because I get a signal if I stand outside there is 1 bar, inside my home there is nothing. Anyone have any suggestions for a good company in Brookville?

Bad signal on top of the hill at the high school here in Brookville. It seems Cellular One works backward. While most cell co's put their towers high upon the tops of the hills, Cellular One hides them down in the valley in buildings where the signal does not get out. Signal on main street in the valley is much better but that is only about 5% of Brookville. The other 95% still lacks good solid coverage. Even in the areas outside of downtown where there is a signal, it is very weak and indoor coverage in homes is impossible. Verizon has that new 30 day trial and I think I am going to give them a shot.

Just outside of Brookville, service goes out near Seldom Seen Rd.on Rt 28. Cellular One service is actually pretty bad anywhere in Jefferson County. A tower was placed in Brookville a short while ago, but the tower is only about 20 feet off the ground in the lowest part of town, so it only helps in a very small area. Cingular has very good coverage in Brookville, but for some odd reason, they are not allowed to sell service to Brookville residents.

Poor to crap here. Only a 1 / 2 mile out of town.

As the previous poster said, Cingular is better in Brookville, but they are NOT allowed to sell service in Brookville because Cellular One prohibits them. Actually, Cellular One roams on Cingular EVERYWHERE in the USA, except for Brookville. Why? Because Cingular has better coverage and if Cellular One customers would be allowed to roam in Brookville, Cellular One's customers would be off network all the time. This would cost Cellular One tons of money, so Cellular One prohibits roaming in Brookville and other nearby areas where Cingular has great coverage.

Cingular has 5 bars at the library. This is really odd because Cingular is not supposed to have service in Brookville.

same crap here. cell one told me I would have a PERFECT signal because I live just a couple blocks off main street of town. what a lie. 0-1 bars in driveway... none in the house... a steady 1 if I stand in the back yard on the elevated deck. u cant talk long because the when the signal drops, bye bye call

I have fair to good reception on Maplevale Road, in the woods, but I just received a letter from Cingular that one of the lines on my account is violating the terms and conditions of my contract. It seems that they require their customers to use more than 50% of their minutes on a Cingular network and live inside a Cingular-owned network coverage area. It sure is nice knowing that now, when I asked about coverage at the time I signed on (2 yrs ago) they said no problem. I have two other lines that are not in jeapordy, but one is. Is that funny? Read the fine print...

I work for a drugstore in Brookville. In the back of our store there is a lady who sells Cellular One (Dobson, I think) at a Radio Shack store. People come in complaining left and right. I usually take the heat since I am up front working. It is really bad that they offer such terrible service!

No service just outside of Brookville and in and out all the way to Punxsutawney. No possibility of a normal conversation. I think Cell 1 is going bankrupt! They aren't investing any money anymore, at least around here.

Cellular 1 has VERY limited coverage. Coverage on rt 36 between Brookville and Sigel is non existent.

Reception drops to nothing at the double bridge over the lake between the Bookville and Hazen exits on Interstate 80. This is not acceptable!

On the way to Summerville, driving along Rt. 28 calls always drop at Airport Rd and there is no reception around the bend past the railroad tracks. Poor reception repection returns about a half mile beyond that bend.

I live right across the street from the old police dept in Brookville. I saw them putting up an antenna on the roof back in June. A few weeks ago someone was back up on the roof again. I think they took the antennas down. There is still a signal at my house but it is no strong like it was.

Reception in this area along route 28 near the hospital / airport area is really bad. You can make a call, but it's very choppy.

Just to confirm what you said about the dam. There was a near drowning there a few weeks ago. A bad situation when there is no coverage there. I do see others on cell phones. I haven't a clue what carrier they have, but it's not Cell1.

lets just face the truth... they put the tower up in the cheapest spot they could find! 1 bar here at my home. bought a family plans mostly for my kids safety. too bad they cannot use the phone very well up on the hill... thats funny because tops of hills is where they usually work best!

Still no coverage at the dam either. The new tower really stinks! It's good downtown in business district 6 block area and that is all.

WOW, their new tower really did a great deal here. Went from no bars to 1 bar at the library. You have to stand outside, and near the fire hydrant. There is no coverage inside the library or immediately outside the door. Thanks for the great tower Cellular One! NOT.

Don't get too excited. There is still no coverage just 4 blocks away from the business district at the library. Funny thing is, I never saw a tower go up!
