i get Verizon extended service, reception of one bar I cannot make or receive calls, at 1680 feet top of mountain but with the help of a 30 feet high over 15 feet garage a $500.00 antenna bring it down and in to the house and I have 5 bars. but I am not happy with verizon, because if you do not have an expensive nationwide plan you get charged for roaming. so my solution is I get very goog reception from cellular one n / east pa I get 2050 minutes for $99.00 compare to 450 minutes $60.00 and pay roaming ontop, I was paying Verizon $80 / 90 a moth for 2 years duration of contract, if I have known about cellular one before it would have bean cheeper to pay the early termination fee. I have a house top a hill off Lordville rd and have no electricity I menage with solar and prop. generator I like to have an alarm installed to the house but with no reception of any kind I can not, I would like to have reception of a GSM network it is very iconomical with gsm you buy a 365 days carddfor about a $100. and you are set for a year where with CDMA like Verason you must buy there own equipment and a national package of at least $ 3500. a moth.
The guy is right when are wee going to get a tower in this area there is lots of people in this area that wants to see service in the area, as soon as you go out of the village of Hancock on rt 97 or as soon as you cross over the Delaware bridge to 191 you get nothing to all the way to Honesdale and from Stockport rd on 97 to Fosterdale rt 52. In the last 3-4 4 years lots of housing went up off Lordville rd and some owners I talk to they will live to see a tower in the area and they will switch to that cell co. for sure. Sal the TUrk.
